Julian Movsesian is the President and founder of Capital Management Strategies, Inc. and the President and CEO of Succession Capital Alliance. Mr. Movsesian is also one of the partners in DiBenedetto AS Roma LLC, which is an American group finalizing the takeover of AS Roma.

I spoke to Mr. Movsesian today Tuesday February 8, and he was kind enough to take time from his very busy schedule to answer a few questions.

Mr. Movsesian, it is a great pleasure to speak with you. You grew up in Egypt. What is your background in soccer and/or soccer management?
Julian Movsesian: "I have followed soccer my whole life. Ever since I was a kid."

How long had you followed Italian soccer before making this bid?
Julian Movsesian: "I have followed Italian soccer for over 40 years."

Do you have a favorite team?
Julian Movsesian: (He laughed.) “AC Milan was my favorite but I’m now a Roma fan.”

Do any of your partners speak and/or read Italian?
Julian Movsesian: "Some do and some don’t."

Have you or your other partners in this deal ever done business in Italy?
Julian Movsesian: "I can only speak for myself. I have not, but have been there many times."

Do you plan to manage the team from Rome or will the club be managed remotely?
Julian Movsesian: "Everything will be based from Rome."

You and your partners have managed large companies in diverse sectors. What type of training/study will you and your partners undergo as preparation to manage an Italian soccer team?
Julian Movsesian: "We have a significant business management background. Obviously, that is why we bid for AS Roma."

What is your vision for the Roma project?
Julian Movsesian: "To cultivate and increase the global marketing. It's been lacking."

Finally, what is your message to AS Roma fans around the world?
Julian Movsesian: "To win the Serie A this year."

Andrea Pirlo’s agent would not confirm or deny reports of a link with Roma. “It’s not the right time to discuss leaving Milan.”

The veteran midfielder’s contract is about to expire and there are rumours he could join the all-new Giallorossi with his old Coach Carlo Ancelotti.

“At the moment Andrea is focusing only on the pitch,” agent Tullio Tinti told fichajes.com.

“It’s too early to talk about what the future holds, as we are still in February.

“It’s not the right time to discuss a contract renewal or possibly leaving Milan.”

The representative certainly did not deny that Pirlo could be considering a move away from San Siro.

Roma are ready for a revolution in the summer if the takeover bid from American investor Thomas DiBenedetto goes through.

You're just jealous you're the spitting image of Delvechhio, Tom. To answer your question, Crescenzi and D'Alessandro all the way for me. Focusing on and developing our youth can still be achieved alongside spending cash on one or two quality players who can make a difference. However, our new owners may not think that and may want instant success and buy a boat-load of new players, which I would just hate.

Its not realistic to have both Pizza and Pirlo. I hope these rumours of Pirlo aren't signaling the end of Pizza's Roma career. We don't need Pirlo.

Sweet as. Just seen an ad on Setanta Ireland and they're showing our Shakhtar Donetsk CL game live next Wednesday. They always get the bum games, this time its worked out quite well.

What do you think, Redzo. I am not happy about foreign ownership. I am simply disgusted with the whole thing at this point.

Pocari, I think Tom was more using Crescenzi and D'Alessandro as examples of which way we'd like the club to go. Focus on youth and home grown talent or splash out big on star names on buy our way to success, and for me there is no question of which we to go. In the case of both Crescenzi and D'Alessandro, I think both are still a little raw and could do with one more season after this out on loan before judging them.

Thomo, I can't see why its not plausible to plan to include young homegrown players while also spending some cash to make us competitive. It all depends on what this new management does and what immediate plans they have. Its unlikely they're going to spend millions and make us unrecognisable, but at the same time there is no guarantee that they won't simply forget about any thoughts of Roman identity or even Italian identity and do as they wish. It is the risk which comes with foreign ownership and you can never be sure what you're going to get and why I am so opposed to it.

lol, Giovanni, nice answers. Well said. Red, you don't think we're enthusiastic about it? It could be worse, I suppose, it could be like over on Roma Addict where all the talk is off who you would prefer, Bale or Sanchez, bringing back Aquilani, Ashley Cole at left-back, we should buy Casillas, etc. etc. Need I say more?

I am waiting to hear from Mr Di Benedetto the man who is heading the group. The man is first generation Italian-American. I would hope that he has some connection to Italian culture since his parents are from there. Who knows?

What can we do though? No good Italian offers came through. It's been established that Angelucci is crooked and should not own the club. Angelini who we all hoped for strung the fans along and disappeared when it was time to show the money.
Remember Fiorello the UEFA agent who was supposedly fronting a group to buy Roma? A few weeks back he was arrested for insider trading and inflating the price of Roma stock with his "attempt" to buy Roma. All we can do is wait and see what they have planned.

I guess you can but hope that they are the type of foreign owners who know their knowledge is limited, so aren't too hands-on and appoint some competent Romans/Italians to handle the day-to-day running of the club.

The new financial regulations should, in theory, curb big spending by owners, so that may help to force them to focus on producing talent as well as buying it.

From a relatively neutral position, I'm split on this deal. It's sad to see a big Italian club in foreign hands, but fresh money is needed in Serie A to be able to continue to compete with other top leagues.

Well the "rumours" are that they want to have Franco Baldini as general manager, Walter Sabatini as sporting director and Ancelloti on the bench. So again we will have to wait and see.
