Sulla gara Bologna-Roma incombe l’interrogativo delle condizioni del campo più dei dubbi di formazione. Malesani ha dovuto metter su uno schieramento falcidiato dalle tante squalifiche, mentre Ranieri riprova la soluzione Totti-Borriello in attacco, con la possibilità di inserire uno tra Vucinic e Menez in corso di partita.

Nevica sul Dall'Ara, ma per il momento non dovrebbe essere a rischio il regolare svolgimento della partita Bologna-Roma, in programma alle 15. La nevicata ha interessato la città dalla notte, in modo insistito, ma non eccessivamente intenso. E, a tratti, la neve si è mischiata con la pioggia. Le squadre di operai dello stadio sono al lavoro dalle 6.30 di mattina e da poco hanno iniziato a levare i teloni che coprivano il campo di gioco. Non dovrebbe ripetersi quanto successo il 28 novembre, quando l'arbitro Guida optò per il rinvio di Bologna-Chievo, a causa, quella volta, di una vera e propria tormenta. Tutto dipenderà, in ogni caso, dall'evoluzione delle condizioni meteo nelle prossime ore. La decisione finale spetterà all'arbitro Banti, che dovrebbe provvedere prima della gara ad un sopralluogo con i capitani delle due squadre. Oltre alla valutazione sulla praticabilità del terreno di gioco, bisognerà tenere conto anche delle condizioni degli spalti dello stadio.

Ranieri: 'It was too dangerous'

Roma Coach Claudio Ranieri explains it was impossible to play at the Dall’Ara. “It was simply too dangerous.” The game kicked off in Bologna under heavy snowfall, but was abandoned after 18 minutes.

“After the referee spoke to the captains, he discussed it with myself and Alberto Malesani,” revealed Ranieri. “Both teams wanted to play, as with such a packed fixture list between the Champions League, Coppa Italia and Serie A, finding a free day will not be easy.

“However, the most important thing was the safety of the players. After a while the fourth official asked how we were feeling and I confirmed I was afraid for the lads. All it takes in those icy conditions is one wrong move and you can do serious damage. Malesani agreed and at that stage the referee made the right decision in calling a halt to proceedings, as there was the genuine risk of a major injury.”

It is rumoured the match will be played – starting from the 19th minute – on February 23.

I think the squad did well not develop sickness in these conditions, but that's pending an injury report. I know Borriello hurt himself in the warm-up which is pretty pathetic. Vucinic could've done better with his effort to put us ahead leading into a continuation. Shame we cant capitlize on an unhealthy Di Vaio and a suspended Portanova, Gimenez, Perez and Moras. Not sure how we'll face-up when we meet again, but possibly have Pizarro back in action by then?? I suppose it was a good call by the ref not to drag out the game. Commendable from both captains to easily come to an agreement. See, Totti is fit to lead afterall ~

A familiar name is popping up again....

According to a lot of sources in Italy if the Italian-American group from Boston buys Roma the remaining shares that Unicredit is to hold on to will be sold to none other than Francesco Angelini. That could be interesting and may ease some people's nerves about foreign ownership. As always take everything with a grain of salt. Today is SUPPOSED to be the deadline for binding offers so let's see how things shape up.

Napoli also signed Victor Ruiz, who is a highly-rated defender – an area which they needed strengthening if they are to be considered genuine scudetto contenders. He could prove to be a very important signing for them.

We've also conducted some day mercato business, although not with any players coming in, with Antunes and Marco D’Alessandro going on loan to Livorno, Zarineh and Erba going to Latina, Sciarra to Barletta and Malomo to Prato. As usual, no official word or any sing of any of these deals on our .

Napoli going for the scudetto. I suppose our management think we have what it takes to win this scudetto, therefore, no significant moves that may enhance Roma's chances going forward.

After reading that enlightening long ass article on our finances and how we're pushing through a sale, there was no chance in hell we were making a move for anyone. We're already backed up in further debt with Unicredit for Burdisso and will face more when we eventually have to pay off Borriello's transfer. It's still a bit of a surprise on how we manage to pay off current wages, but we still have to cut the likes of Doni and Adriano off our wage bill.

Shield, that's awesome news we've sent more kids out on loan. I do hope they are actually loans and not Prade's filthy co-ownerships.

Not bad, Lupa, not bad at all. Actually I was being serious - just because he's been a bit of a talisman down there for a while and it always strikes me as a little bit sad when one club's longish-standing talisman leaves to be a bit-part player at another club. I haven't seen how much he's been playing this year so perhaps it's not quite like that, but I always think it's a bit sad when the bigger clubs pick off players like that. It's different, of course, when it's an exciting young player who's coming through and moving on, hopefully, to bigger and better things. With a player like Mascara - or Lucarelli, for instance, a few years ago - I don't think it's good for the soul of the league.

Pocari, do you still update your complete Roma mercato files that you used to have in Word docs? I was just thinking there aren't that many reliable sources for keeping full track of all Roma mercato dealings. The used to be a good place for checking such things but its not no longer updated as much. We should try get a thread like that going here as its very handy for references purposes, or does anyone have any other good sites which has such info (with all official PDF references with all exact details?). I've just checked on and they still haven't updated or released any official information on any of our January mercato dealings which is a joke.

released for tomorrows game with Brescia. Adriano, Pizarro and Brighi the only absences. Still no sign of Pizza boy making his comeback?
