That was certainly a peno when Lucio blocked Campagnaro's shot. He clearly moved his arm to block it, you were very lucky to get away with it. Napoli were the better team throughout but didn't quite have the conviction to push for victory, as is often their downfall.

Leo: 'Inter deserved to qualify'

Leonardo feels that Inter deserved to beat Napoli and qualify for the Semi-Finals of the Coppa Italia.

Inter were dominated for large spells and only ended up winning by virtue of a penalty shoot out.

“I am very happy with this performance,” Leonardo said. “It was a very balanced game.

“Napoli tried to win with their champions and on their pitch too, but we knew how to suffer.

“We had two clear chances in the first half. If we had scored, the game would have change.

“Our victory on penalties was very deserved.”

Asked about reports linking Inter with Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini, he said: “There are still a few days until the market closes. We'll see.

“If we can add something then fine, but even this evening we showed a great spirit. On the other hand, Inter hadn't won here since 1997.”

Questa mattina lo staff medico dell'Inter diretto dal professor Franco Combi ha effettuato gli esami strumentali resi necessari dopo gli infortuni accusati da Stankovic e Cordoba nella ripresa di Napoli-Inter, quarto di finale Tim Cup poi vinto dai nerazzurri ai calci di rigore.

Per il serbo gli esami hanno evidenziato uno stiramento al muscolo semimembranoso, in regione distale, della coscia destra, quindi sarà logico attendersi uno stop di almeno un mese.

Meno grave invece il numero 2 nerazzurro che ha accusato una lussazione acromion-claveare alla spalla destra che lo costringerebbe ad un'assenza di 2/3 settimane.

Entrambi i calciatori, già indisponibili per squalifica in occasione di Inter-Palermo di campionato in programma domenica prossima, hanno iniziato i programmi di recupero al centro sportivo 'Angelo Moratti' di Appiano.

Infine, saranno valutate domani le condizioni di McDonald Mariga che oggi ha svolto una seduta fisioterapica.

lol wtf, I just turned on the TV to catch the news and the main sports headline was that Inter will bid £40m for Gareth Bale in the summer. Apparently its an 'exclusive' from The Guardian:

Report: Pazzini signs for Inter

There are reports Giampaolo Pazzini has signed for Inter and will complete his medical tomorrow.
Sampdoria initially rejected an offer of €6m plus full ownership of Jonathan Biabiany, but negotiations have continued throughout today.

According to the latest reports from Sky Sport Italia, a deal has been struck for €13m, Biabiany and youth team prospect Luca Caldirola.

Pazzini’s agent was spotted leaving the Inter transfer headquarters this evening and it’s suggested he signed a four-and-a-half-year contract worth €2.5m per season.

However, Sampdoria director Doriano Tosi also walked out of the meeting with Nerazzurri representatives and was less encouraging.

“We’re a long way away from an agreement. Leave me alone,” he snapped to reporters.

The Nerazzurri are also expected to complete the signing of midfielder Houssine Kharja from Genoa today.

He replaces Sulley Muntari, who is heading to Sunderland.

Happy to hear that this is going through. Question is, will we keep Milito or Pandev at the end of the season? Something tells me one of them might be on the way out. I just hope we keep them both.

I think we will. We have 4 good strikers now and we are settled in that department for another year or two. Milito when fit will still be our number one choice and Pandev is still just 27, not to mention a youth team product as well. Branca has been trying to get Castaignos who is just 18 and is expected to be here this summer or next.

Midfield is an area we need to concentrate. There are rumors that we have already reached an agreement with Montolivo, which is excellent news if it is true. Today we also signed an Austrian midfielder who is supposedly in the Schweinsteiger mold. For the defense, we have got half of Andreolli and we should get the other half in the summer. We need a LB unless we decide to promote Biraghi or Natalino.

We need to sell some of our most acclaimed stars. We should try to offload Julio Cesar & Milito in summer. Van Der Sar has announced his retirement so Man U will definately be interested in Julio Cesar. We can then buy the second half of Viviano and have some cash left. Milito is more difficult to sell, but Preziosi has always said that he'll always buy Milito back, even once he turns 35.
Castaignos or Sanchez for our forward department instead of Milito. Montolivo in the middle of the park. We need some more quantity in the middle too, but I see we might turn to our primavera here. As for the defence, as long as we have Chivu, I dont think we'll ever look for another LB. An issue might arise if we manage to sell Maicon too. Santon is not an adequate direct replacement but rather an alternative IMO. I'd rather we start looking for another CB too, now that Lucio will be in his last year of contract, Samuel might be a question mark, Materazzi retiring and Cordoba nearing the end of his career. There is a lot to change this summer and little cash to spend. We have to be smart...
