Yeh that sucks after Extra Time too! Iran had a decent tournament. Korea could be eventual champions. Really any team that has gone to this stage looked like they could win it.
Yep I heard about Uzbekistan yesterday. We should beat them, but after needing extra time to send Iraq away, well it isn't convincing.

A bad pass in injury time of et... We played too defensive in the first half. I would've rather lost to any other team (except maybe Iraq) than S.Korea. I hope Japan beats them, then lose to you guys.

Ahaha cheers mate. We have to get past the Uzbeks first. For me, I'm not entirely confident with this Aus squad. When it comes to the pressure situations this side is to inexperienced. Only a couple of the players have one championship medals as we get closer to the finals we might probably see signs of nerves kick in for most of the squad.

Yikes! 6-0. I seriously was not expecting that. Before the match I was thinking that we haven't scored many goals and if we did make it to the finals some how that, that would be our downfall. The Uzbeks didn't know what hit 'em.

First and foremost, congratulations go to Japan on a great Asian Cup and great grand final match. They deserved to win it. This is their 4th Asian Cup. First nation to do it as well!
Now, Australia for the most part I have to say played better than Japan. The problem was that our ability to not to score goals when it matters hurt us again. The goals that we scored against Uzbekistan I feel were 5 too many, and that going into this final the inexperienced boys were expecting the ball to just go in. Full credit goes to the Japanese keeper, Kawashima, who for me was man of the match. He kept out all our strikes on goal with some fantastic saves. 1 gripe that I have is that our manager Holger Osieck took off Cahill and Kewell in ET when we needed them the most, while keeping on the two holding midfielders even though we had gone a goal down. The only thing I can think of is that he kept them there to cover the whole in the centre of our defence because our big CB (Ognenovski) was going forward.
Anyway, congrats again to Japan.
