Just started. Hosts Qatar lost to Uzebkistan 2-0. Second goal is quite comical.
Expecting either Japan or S.Korea to win this tournament with ease, but obviously hoping that Aus can do something.
On another note, how interesting that the Asian Cup is usually played in June/July, but because Qatar is hosting it, it to be moved to January. The World Cup is going to be nice that time of the year won't it??? Australia just won the right to host the 2015 Asian Cup which will be played in our Winter, (June/July) the sane time to host a football tournament.

Well the first game is against defending champs Iraq. We'll see how that goes first...

My team (Aus) beat India but not very convincingly. We play S.Korea next and I expect us to be pretty much destroyed. Well perhaps thats being too harsh, but I doubt we will win. S.Korea and Japan have far too much class to miss out on another Asian Cup.
Defending champions Iraq will be a difficult match, I expect Iran to win it though. I was delighted to see Iraq win it last time, just because of the situation they were in at the time with US, perhaps still are. I don't know enough about the situation now to comment in full. Also, where I live in Sydney, is full of people from Iraq and was great to see and hear the celebrations that went on because of that win. We don't see much football celebrations here, so it was a welcome sight.

haha helllllll naaawwww. I live in la, which is also known as Tehrangeles by the Iranian population. I haven't seen the brackets, but Iran- S. Korea or Iran vs. any arab team would be interesting. Iran -Australia would be nice too

The next round is where this tournament will begin imo. Alot of strong teams. Any can win it. In non Iran news, if Australia lose their next match they are out of the tournament.
That clip had the Australian commentators lol. I didn't know they were commentating for all english speaking followers.

I really hope you guys beat Bahrain. Theyre such a dirty and cheap team to play. !0-men behind the ball, and god forbid they go a goal up they start pretending they're injured and waste time.

Nice win by Japan, 5-0 over the Saudi's. I suppose they have had problems since the start of the tournament considering they sacked their coach after their first match. So Japan plays Qatar and I hope they destroy them.
Tbh, I wouldn't be suprised if we lose this game or just play for a draw towards the end (A draw means we will vs you guys next ). Bahrain has never beaten us but we tend to outpaced by the much quicker and nimble Arabic nations like Bahrain, Iraq, you guys. Tactically we are better but if we can manage to get the early goal then yes we will win, but as you said if they get the first then the 10men wall becomes a problem. Also the constant "injuries" is absolutely ludacris!

It wont be Iran. You guys have to lose to UAE to vs us. We somehow managed first place due to South Korea conceding a goal against India! So you guys probably will vs S.Korea. while we most probably vs Iraq.
