"Milan will bring out the mechanisms to tie Alessandro Nesta down to a new deal before everyone else and engrain his future firmly at San Siro.
Nesta has become the intense focus of the club's plans to offer a number of players an extension. His current terms expire in June, but there are no worries for the 34-year-old.
Il Giorno reports that he will be the first to be offered a new contract. Massimiliano Allegri sees his importance in the squad as a leader and a role model to younger players.
Reports had suggested a return to former club Lazio, who are looking to expand their squad parallel to their good form in the league this season.
However, his experience and commitment will be rewarded by the Rossoneri, with talks expected to open up in January, despite the club claiming they would hold back until spring." ================================================================================ Zlatan Ibrahimovic will step aside and allow Ronaldinho space to convince coach Massimiliano Allegri, who said he may start for Milan against Ajax if he passes a late fitness test.
Ibrahimovic will be rested for the game as Milan are already through to the last 16 alongside Real Madrid.
But despite the game's dead rubber nature, Allegri has asked for strict and unswerving order from those who get the nod.
"Milan will go on the pitch to play an important game," Allegri told the press.
"Ronaldinho has not trained after a knock he sustained on Sunday, but if he has recovered then he will play alongside Robinho.
"Ibrahimovic? He will be on the bench.
"Tomorrow's game is not a friendly. It's a Champions League match and I always want to win.
"We are already through, but if we lose then we will be angry." ================================================================================= "Liverfekkin'wankscum are the latest in a long list of clubs pursuing out of favour Milan playmaker Ronaldinho.
The Brazilian, 30, is designed to amuse, but his season thus far has been far from jovial. He has become peripheral to plans under Massimiliano Allegri, who has preferred Robinho.
Ronaldinho's lack of regular football has led to speculation his time will be up in January as promises of a new deal have been placed into the background by Milan.
Itasportpress now claims Liverfekkin'wankscum are looking at the former Barcelona man. Roy Hodgson is said to be looking for a creative side-kick to line up alongside Fernando Torres.
Ronaldinho would arrive on a free deal as his contract at Milan expires in June, leaving him free to negotiate with other clubs.
However, Liverfekkin'wankscum would have to convince him to drop his €7.5 million per annum wage demands. Los Angeles Galaxy and a host of Brazilian clubs are said to be keen also."
Paolo Maldini "Il Sogno di ogni attaccante e' segnare il piu' bella gol della storia. L'incubo e' incontrare il miglior difensore del mondo."
Francesco Totti "Never give up Pippo,You are an example for all of us to never give up."
"Milan, Silvio Berlusconi: Vote 9. It's a vote that unites their performances and results. The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is worth plenty. Perhaps they need a replacement for Clarence Seedorf."

Abate has improved alot and Im really happy with his development this season, he's established himself as a very competent RB and he's still fairly young so there's potential for more, I'm not saying he'll be an all conquering world-class RB or anything like that but it's unrealistic to expect all 11 positions to be covered by players of such caliber, not gonna happen...don't forget he's a club-grown player, this is really valuble asset for us as the UEFA rules kick in, so all in all I don't think RB is a major priority right now if he keeps it up, but we'd need a world class LB (Conetrao) though
David Luiz might be good but I'm not comfortable with an all-Brasilian CB.... that said, we'd need a top CB to take over from Nesta eventually in a couple of years' time, maybe we should get somebody in the 23-27 age category with potential to groom him for an eventual starting spot
Don't really give a flying fuck about tomorrow's game to be honest, of course I don't want an embarrassing result but the most important thing is rest key players and pray for an injury-free evening for the rest of them who do take part tomorrow...I'll be busy tomorrow so I'll probably pull a vtec and not watch the game
contrao will be the icing on the cake from berlusconi.
as for tomorrow's game, i'm looking forward to seeing some of the youngsters get a run out, especially merkel. he really impressed over the summer.
man, i agree about the all-brazilian CB pairing, it just goes against all tradition. the problem is most of the italian defenders today suck. i honestly think that no current italian defender is playing at a better level than nesta, so it's great news to hear that the management are putting his contract renewal on the fast track. but who knows how much longer he'll last, but he is absolutely phenomenal to watch.
At one stage it appeared that Milan are in danger of not qualifying for the second round of the Champions League but with eight points from five matches the former Italian and European champions have booked their place in the Round of 16 last month, defeating Auxerre 2-0 on Matchday 5 to secure their place.
The Rossoneri are second in the group and come what may they will finish as runners-up, as group leaders Real Madrid have an unassailable five-point lead over them. Tonight's game is pretty much meaningless for them, although they will like to stretch their eight-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
Milan are in great form too as at the weekend they defeated Brescia to go three points clear at the top of the table in Serie A and coach Massimiliano Allegri wants the Diavolo to continue their momentum.
"It's an important game for us," explained Allegri. "It's the Champions League and it's in matches like this that the real worth of a team comes out; that will help me take my decisions in the future.
"It is not a vital game, that's true, but we have to give our best because victories give you confidence and confidence helps you win again."
New Day, New Start
Ajax may have relinquished all hopes of qualifying for the latter stages of the Champions League last month when they were hammered 4-0 by Real Madrid in Amsterdam but the Dutch powerhouse can very much drop to the Europa League.
However, de Godenzonen will have to carry on their European adventure without Martin Jol, who resigned on Monday evening stating that expectations at the club were too high. Frank de Boer is now the caretaker coach and his first task will be to ascertain Ajax's passage to Europe's second-tier club competition.
"Ajax is what matters," enthused De Boer. "I want to bring the joy back; the players must be happy to play. When it comes to playing football, movement on the field and attacking, I am close to Johan Cruyff's philosophy.
"I like the 4-3-3 formation; I know you need the right players for that, but if you want to find them, then you will. I don't want to change too much to begin with, but I have my own ideas and I want to leave my mark on the team in the future."
Ajax are currently third in Group G with four points from five matches, a point ahead of Auxerre. The French side take on Madrid in the other game of the group and will be keen to win, which means that former Dutch and European champions Ajax must go for the kill at San Siro.

Francesco Totti "Never give up Pippo,You are an example for all of us to never give up."
"pulling a romashield27", WTF are you shite'n on about?! I don't "find reasons" not to watch games, if I miss one its for a valid reason, and I always try catch a replay on Setanta or ESPN or else download the game to watch after. Have you ever done that?
Reading Maldini's post that there's no young great Italian defenders, I was going to mention Ranocchia as well, who I think is good enough to step up and fill Nesta's boots.
Yes, to be fair to thredzo I'm not sure missing a game because your neice is coming to watch you perform in the All Ireland ballet finals is quite the same thing as missing a game because you've got food poisoning from over-indulging on mouldy duck.
I remember shield once missed a game because he went to the stadium instead. But itwasnt a big deal because vucinic never played so he didn't miss much.
