i couldn't watch the game live, unfortunately, because i was flying home. but i had it recorded and watched it later, and i have to say, it was probably our best performance of the season, up there with the first game against lecce. it's crazy how much of difference pirlo makes. the passing and the movement was absolutely phenomenal and sublime.

allegri pulled a shrewd move with boateng, and i'm sure his 'surprise' will garner some exaggerated praise, but boateng can't be relied on game in game out to be our trequartista. he's an above average player at best, and there's no way he's the kind of player that can change the game dramatically. his mobility helped today, attacking the spaces created by ibra (who besides his goal didn't play that well), but boateng won't be blowing your mind any time soon. but you have to credit the way allegri utilizes the entire squad, picking and using the unique characteristics of a player for the greater benefit of the team. i think allegri noticed that when ibra dropped deep, there was nobody in the box; so with this change, boateng was our furthest man forward whenever ibra dropped deep, it's a great showcase of allegri's tactical evolution and flexibility. and robinho also put in a great 90 minutes today, he's a livewire, and he's playing pato's role better than pato ever did. pato will find it tough to walk into the first XI now, especially considering robinho's form.

one more player that i think deserves special mention is gattuso. he is becoming a complete player [almost]. he has become damn good with the ball at his feet, and he rarely loses the ball in a challenge. he protects the ball well, and maintains possession under pressure. it's amazing to see him learn these techniques so late in his career, he's never played like that before. lets hope he continues.

and pirlo is king. he struggled in the center-left position in the first 20 minutes, but once he became the regista, he was unstoppable. the reverse passes to the central defenders were fantastic. there is no player like him in the world.

still don't have internet at home and was pretty sick (still am), so couldn't watch the game. good result though.

yelled at my internet company quite a lot last night, so they should be giving me two months free. of course "free" when you're not getting any service isn't that great a deal.

Ronaldinho's future is looking further away from Milan, who could lure Antonio Cassano from Sampdoria to replace him in January.

Questions continue to be raised over the Brazilian whose margin with first team football has widened under Massimiliano Allegri.

His continuous vision of the bench may lead him to look beyond Milan, with Los Angeles Galaxy still calling, according to Leggo.

Promises of a renewal have looked weak. His deal expires in June, but Milan flinched when 'Dinho' showed reluctance to accept a pay-cut to his €7.5 million per annum wages.

what do you guys think of abate this season. After the game against real, where he marked ronaldo, he has exploded. He defends well and he gets forward rally well, and he's been helped by a resurgent gattuso.

he is improving, which is good. will he ever be good enough, though? i still doubt it but time will tell. letting him develop by giving him confidence is the right thing to do, but at his age, paolo maldini was already a legend.
