Have to give props to Marotta for this move. Motta > Criscito. I would argue that we could have had them both, but that would make the backline far too young.

I think this a loan with an option to buy at the end of the summer. If that is the case, I would want at least 25 starts throughout the regular schedule and a few Coppa games. A slick deal to buy him outright for 5 mil only. TK, my only gripe may be the injury bug. If Motta gets hurt, not only will he fit in properly but has the disadvantage vs Criscito. I think Criscito was available for all of Genoa's games while Motta was constantly hurt. Let's hope it goes well and Juve buy him for 5 mil next season. He'll have to compete with Grygera and Zebina (he still on this team) for that spot so it should be easy. Just want to mention Melo's shitty fucking attitude at this tournament and at his club during games and this is what he had to say for it:

“Anyway, I’ve had a good World Cup and today I had a good first half with the assist for Robinho’s goal."

It was a sweet pass but the pressure always gets to Melo. He becomes careless and frustrated.

PS, Caceres dumped. Now that's an odd thing to do considering he will be good. Maybe he could've switched at LB and have Motta and RB.

^Yeah I still hope Marotta manages to buy Caceres (once it becomes apparent to Barca that nobody wants to pay 11m for him) considering that he can play at all 4 defensive positions.

I think the more likely scenario is that Del Neri shows faith in De Ceglie, but hopefully we get Caceres. It would help our rotation system too, because Caceres can play across the back and De Ceglie can play LB or LM.

Juve unveil shirt numbers

Juventus have revealed the squad numbers for 2010-11, as Leonardo Bonucci gets 19, Simone Pepe 23 and Jorge Martinez 25.
The list of shirt numbers for the team was unveiled today and there are quite a few changes even among the players who were there last season.

Sebastian Giovinco switches to 14 and Mohammed Sissoko takes on the 5 shirt.

There are quite a few newcomers to Turin this summer. Marco Motta wears 2, Davide Lanzafame 20 and Bonucci 19.

Pepe is given the number 23, Martinez 25 and goalkeeper Marco Storari takes 32.

Nedved returning to Juventus as club director
– September 11, 2010

Pavel Nedved has confirmed he is in negotiations to return to former club Juventus as a director, 16 months after he retired from football following eight years with the Bianconeri. Nedved was linked with a move upstairs at Juve when he hung up his boots last May, but the Czech Republic legend chose not to continue in football in order to spend more time with his family. But after more than a year out of the game, the 2003 European Footballer of the Year has revealed that he is in talks with his former club about a possible return.

"I have been in contact with president Andrea Agnelli and we set an appointment for next week," Nedved told Tuttosport. "I waited until the club situation stabilised and the transfer market came to a close. After the failure of last season, there have been frenetic months at Juve with many changes. Now is the time to work out how I can be of use. Juve were, and always will be, my everlasting love."

Nedved had originally been linked with a youth team role, but it is thought that he will now take up a position as a team manager or 'special counsel' to Agnelli.

Krasic is our Ibrahimovic, says Melo



Felipe Melo believes Milos Krasic can drag Juventus to the Scudetto just like the club's former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic appears to be doing for rivals Milan.

The Serbia international scored a fantastic individual goal against Genoa on Sunday to seal a 2-0 win at Marassi that leaves Juventus fourth in Serie A.

“He broke the game in two,” Melo said. “Milos is the man who makes Juve change gear.

“He is a true champion who lifts the qualitative value of the team.

“Juve are not just one player, but in effect Milos is exceptional.

“Ours opponents are also beginning to fear him and that includes the fans.”

Quagliarella never been better



Juventus ace Fabio Quagliarella insists he is in the form of his life. “This is the real me,” he underlined.

The striker was signed by the Turin giants late in the transfer window after the Old Lady finally cashed in on Diego whom they sold to Wolfsburg.

Despite arriving from Napoli with some scepticism, the World Cup player has hit eight goals in 14 League games.

“You are certainly seeing the real Quagliarella,” the forward told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.

“Today I am being used in my correct position, I am finally being fielded as a second striker.

“That hadn’t happened since my days at Sampdoria, where I would play behind Fabio Bazzani or Emiliano Bonazzoli.

“I haven’t been able to give my best in the national side too, even if I am somebody who adapts to situations.

“The team comes first and I will happily make sacrifices, especially when you are winning.”

Quagliarella is recognised in Italy as something of a scorer of great goals, rather than a great scorer, after some sensational strikes over the years.

“Do I feel under-rated? Yes, by the critics, but that is not a problem,” he added. “Wherever I went there was always said to be a better player than me.

“That may have been right, but in certain moments I probably deserved greater consideration as a player.”

Del Neri: 'I'm 100 per cent staying'



Gigi Del Neri is without Felipe Melo for tomorrow’s game with Chievo, but assures he will “100 per cent stay at Juventus next season.”
There has been a great deal of speculation on the tactician’s future, especially as qualification for Europe is not yet certain.

“What are my chances of staying on the Juventus bench next season? 100 per cent,” insisted Del Neri in his Press conference.

“They say we have an easier run-in than our other Champions League rivals and I hope that will prove to be the case. Before judging our campaign, everyone must wait until May 22.

“Lately we have found a good balance and the team did all it could, even if we’re still lacking something. We could’ve done better, but could also have done worse.

“What was never lacking in this team was effort. If we win tomorrow night, then we’ll be within reach of fourth place.”

Udinese leapt into fourth today with a 2-1 victory over Lazio, while Roma are also still in the race.

“We are fighting for the Champions League, which means apart from Milan, Inter and Napoli all the other sides had our same problems,” continued Del Neri. “It’s a tough League for everyone.”

Felipe Melo failed a fitness test on his left calf muscle, but Leonardo Bonucci is in the squad despite spraining his right ankle in training two days ago.

Marchisio extends Juve contract



Claudio Marchisio has officially renewed his Juventus contract for another five years. “My story started in 1993 and I’m happy it’ll continue for a long time.”
The midfielder was a Bianconeri youth academy product and in recent years has become a key figure in the squad as well as an Italy international.

There were some doubts over whether he would put pen to paper, especially amid interest from Inter, but this evening Marchisio officially signed until June 30, 2016.

“It is a very important day for me and I dedicate it to my family. My story with Juventus started in 1993 and I’m happy it’ll continue for a long time,” said the midfielder.

“Much has been said about this contract renewal over the past few months, but both the club and I never acted as if this rapport could break off.

“My biggest dream is to lift a trophy as soon as possible, something I also want to do for our fans, who have always stood by us during difficult times.”

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta confirmed that the new contract includes performance-related bonuses and image rights parameters.

“We are happy with this renewal because Marchisio is an important player who grew up in our youth academy and has the Bianconeri DNA.”

JUVE SNAP UP PIRLO

Juventus have confirmed the signing of Andrea Pirlo on a three-year contract. The 32-year-old Italy midfielder, who announced last week he was ending his 10-year stay at AC Milan, passed a medical in Turin on Tuesday.

A statement from Juve this evening read: "Andrea Pirlo is officially a Juventus player. The signed contract will run from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2014."

Pirlo, 32, has been one of Milan's most consistent performers for the past decade, helping them win two Champions League titles. He also won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Pirlo struggled with injuries and form this season, though, and made just 12 Serie A starts as Milan won the title.

His signing could impact on whether Juve choose to sign midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who spent the season at the club on loan from Liverfekkin'wankscum, on a permanent deal. Juventus finished a disappointing season in seventh place to miss out on European qualification.
