not sure if players like ronaldo are the problem or the symptom, but the fact that such a pussy is the biggest name in the sport is definitely not a healthy sign. unfortunately, for as long as i can remember, football never was that big on sportsmanship as diving and gamesmanship have existed forever, but players do seem more thuggish now, on the one hand, but too cowardly to take any responsibility on the other.

Of course, that is a much more disgusting one, but the surrounding the ref one is my own pet-hate. I do think that the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo is a major influence of 'pussy-ball'. Not that he was the first to do such things or anything, but he's got such a high-profile that kids around the world love him and all aspects of his game, even rolling around like a bitch to get a player sent-off, and so if they see him do it they may copy, and you'd have to worry for the future manliness of the game with people like him.

Johnny, interesting points in your post! It's good to see Aabar clearly wants a responsible and successful Ancelotti/Baldini pairing to run the team, and just as important, their choice shows they want two men who are very familiar with Roma! I don't dislike Claudio Ranieri. The man just isn't 5 star rated which we already knew so we can't shoot him down for that! Rosella and her softcock yes-man Daniele Pradè however are a different story and won't be missed by many!


'Tec, Ed, & Fonz, we can't just say, "Much of modern day life is lived by those rules," because if we believe what we read, that kind of behaviour has been around since times immoral! (Don't say it, I know it's immemorial...)
