Two smart goals during a scrappy first half turned out to be enough for Argentina to pick up their second win of the World Cup Qualifiers.

The first came in the 15th minute when Gabriel Milito rose highest to head in a precise Riquelme free-kick, giving the visitors the lead much against the run of play.

The second was a piece of Messi-magic.

Carlos Tevez did well on the right before finding the diminutive Barca forward, who took a few deft touches to cut inside a couple of defenders, and let rip a 20 yard effort that went straight into the corner.

That turned out to be the last goal of the game, particularly as Argentina seemed to be content to bring home the points after a horrendous second-half head injury suffered by Nicolas Burdisso.

The Inter man was involved in a clash of heads with Juan Arango, and unlike the latter, did not move after falling to the ground, in scenes that immediately brought back memories of Antonio Puerta.

After a very nervous few minutes, he was somehow strapped and stretchered off.

I don't think Ibra will play simply because we have Cruz in top form and because Reggina are most likely not going to trouble us (watch us lose now lol). I'm happy with Chivu getting the left back spot for some minutes. Incidently, he played in a holding midfield role for Romania in the qualifiers. Stankovic, atm, is no major loss considering his form so Zanetti, Dacourt, Cambiasso or Vieira can do as good a job, if not better till Stankovic gets back to some form.

Predictions guys...

I'll go for a 0 - 2 away win with Cruz and Samuel scoring.

Ok, IF Ibra hasn’t arrived back after his international duties,then I expect Mancini to drop him from the starting 11. BUT only under those conditions would he seriously think to leave him out. In which case, I would expect to see Cruz starting (unless Mancini decides to partner Adri with Suazo).This latter case wouldn’t be such a good idea IMO. I expect Reggina to play defensively,and come out on counter attacks, in which case, Suazo isn’t an ideal option.
Also, lets not forget that Crespo has been non-active for almost 3 weeks now, so Mancini will have to think about that. To be honest,against a team like Reggina, Crespo would be more ideal than Cruz, due to their characteristics.
Anyway, I guess its easier to win the lottery, than to guess who will actually start up front for us.
In midfield, I really don’t expect to see Vieira in there. I would rather think that Mancini doesn’t want to take the risk of not playing him against the Russians. IMO, Cesar, Cambiasso & Figo are sure starters. And, unless Zanetti hasn’t returned late or tired, he is guaranteed a starting spot in our midfield. Otherwise, it shall be Dacourt (though I’m not too sure about his current physical conditions).

Mary, Ibrahimovic drifts to the either left or right on most occassions. Obviously he does appear in the centre of the attack since he would find himself in those positions on quick breaks, but when Inter play methodically out of the back, Ibra, mostly will recieve the ball wide and he's straight on the attack (which is where he's at his most dangerous). Drogba does use his pace and strength but he very rarely pops up anywhere but the centre of the attack. Well, that's how it was with Jose at the helm. Ibra does hold the ball up at times, but so does every forward on every team on occassions when it must be done. The reason Ibra can turn and play forward is because Crespo/Suazo/Cruz are next to him and not behind him.

In the Serie A, we've been very wing-orientated since Cesar and Figo have been playing most games and doing excedingly well. If you replaced Drogba with Ibra, you will see a massive change in how we play since the attacks will have to be more centralised because thats where Drogba will be. Ibra adds an extra dimension to the attack, which is what I'm getting at here. IMO, Drogba was best utilised when he had Robben and Cole opperating on either side where as Ibra is best utilised when he has someone playing next to him.

Amoruso has just been ruled out for the Reggina game and no Modesto either. Let's hope it makes things a bit easier.

Didn't get to watch the game guys but Adrianooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... it must of been the slightest touch because I cant see it, even though I'm under the influence. 3 point in the bag and 5 points clear of the Romans...

I've seen the match, but it was so damn ugly, and boring. That pitch was a disaster and we looked concentrated on other things.Probably many were more focused on next tuesday's match than yesterday's. Really, had Reggina scored a goal and got a draw,I think would have been a just result. They played better than us, but we grabbed the 3 points,so no way I'm complaining.
Morra, I gotta agree with you.This will probably mean +3 on Juventus.I am starting to think that Juve might get a higher position than that 4th spot.If Trezeguet keeps playing the way he is for a whole season,then I can see them grabbing a 3rd or 2nd spot.Then of course,with this Inter squad,there is little one can do to take them off their no.1 spot.
