Brescia’s Andrea Caracciolo claims authorities were more lenient with Philippe Mexes than teammate Alessandro Diamanti.
In the last few weeks both players have been penalised for insulting the referee. Roma defender Mexes had a three-match ban reduced to two on appeal, while Brescia midfielder Diamanti sits out three games.
“I think three rounds are excessive, especially considering what other players have done recently, such as Mexes,” said Caracciolo.
“I hope and believe that the judges will re-evaluate Alessandro’s ban.”
While Diamanti’s protests were entirely verbal, Mexes had to be dragged off the field by teammates after his red card against Brescia.
However, Diamanti was criticised and told to “grow up” by President Gino Corioni for his tendency to complain to the referee.
Paolo Maldini "Il Sogno di ogni attaccante e' segnare il piu' bella gol della storia. L'incubo e' incontrare il miglior difensore del mondo."
Francesco Totti "Never give up Pippo,You are an example for all of us to never give up."
I managed to find a little info despite the current media blackout imposed by Her Highness...and that includes a film clip of Vuci both scoring and celebrating his goal for Montenegro!
From romanews.eu today:
We are told Taddei's injury problem is the main reason our club seems determined to try to talk West Ham into a loan deal for Behrami which would bring him to us in January. He himself will only just be returning from a ligament injury in late October/early November... Simplicio, according to his agent yesterday, spoke of his desire to return to fitness and compete for a place in our team before he thinks of leaving. But the Maresca to replace Simplicio story is still there since he has apparently now turned down Galatasary, although Romanews warns the info is not reliably sourced. Also the Legrottaglie rumour has started up again...oh for some money so we can think of hiring better than has-beens!
tifosidellaroma.com/ in a piece described as "Another market idiocy," would appear to support the Romanews advice of non reliable info and spoke of the Maresca story as being "more of an idea" which I take to mean being just that, in no way a definite decision. However, he would come free gratis so unfortunately we have to give these stories some attention.
romanews.eu gives me the highlight of my news! I mentioned Vuci's goal for Montenegro in my last post but I hadn't seen what a well taken goal it was until a few minutes ago. His celebration too was something that must be watched...again, I hope Signor Claudio pays attention. Unless injured, the bench is no place for Vučinić!

Caro Prof, I always try to approach something with an open and fair mind. I read all of that Aquilani article from Il Messaggero, I know what he meant. Strange, don't you think, that his responses to similar questions asked by Sky Italia were watered down and less informative? As if he had been advised to?
Taking into account all he has said regarding Roma since he left us, it's obvious to me this is the behaviour of someone who considers himself hard done by. The only reasonable complaints he had were firstly the ones concerning the methods of our medical staff and secondly, the condition of the Trigoria training pitch, which as we know caused injuries to a number of our players. He knows and admits Pizarro and De Rossi were unsaleable at a time when he was injury prone, we needed money, and he was the weakest link. A business decision, plain and simple. He knows that, realises the club could not then refuse the €20mil offered yet he plays the martyr? He doesn't fool me with his denials of there being no ill feelings borne by him!
The disparaging statement on Totti, "He is a myth...he was my myth," immediately followed by the comparison to The Waterboy. A disgrace! Additionally, I believe I am fully justified in thinking he took a swipe at Pizarro and De Rossi. Aquilani resents not being also regarded as unsaleable as they were! His other comments too...if he was happily playing for Roma now, I wonder if he would still have openly stated that Steven Gerrard is the best midfielder in the business. If he thinks that, what are we to assume his opinion of his current team mates in Torino is? In my book he is being both unprofessional and disrespectful.
I'm glad he is no longer a part of Roma! I will not merely stand by and laugh off his act of aspertion casting on a club I have followed, a team I have supported for longer than he has been alive! This isn't a case of my trying to find offence where none was intended. You are the one who is not seeing what is right in front of you!
But what the hell, this is one of those subjects you and I will never agree on...
James, I've just read in romanews that following the goal he scored in the 2-0 Azzurrini win, Okaka has said that at 21 years of age he has no more time to lose in establishing himself. I think he is at this point merely trying to force our coach's hand rather than anything else. But, whether you and I like it or not I imagine Ranieri will regard using Okaka just now as too much of a risk because of the team's fragile situation. I think you know my opinion that Okaka is better with us than on loan elsewhere, but that can only be if he is given playing time. I have more faith in his ability to improve than I do of that overweight, overpaid doughball from Rio but il mister either thinks otherwise or is under instruction to try to to justify Adriano's wage bill...
Lupa...let's be frank, if you accessed the video clip from the link I gave, you have to admit his goal was a lovely piece of skill. I found his celebration...let's say extraordinary!
Greg, so there are noises of discontent regarding the fact that La Sensi got Mexes' ban reduced to two days. But it came at a price as the club has had to pay a doubled fine instead! Just please don't tell me that had it been a Milan player, Berlu wouldn't have gotten a punishment reduction...
...and I'll bet he wouldn't have had to pay any extra!
I'm not sure I can agree with any of that that's directed to me, Carlo - except for the very last comment, I guess. One wonders, for instance, what happens if you translate "mito" as "legend" rather than as "myth" or what you think Aquilani could have said in response to that question which would have been acceptable to both his old club and his new one.
Tommaso & Fahad, interpretation is often an individual thing...but there's no denying Aquilani's destiny just didn't lie with us. His own fragile condition was the deciding factor back then and all the reasons relating to his sacrifice plus the act itself will probably be something he will keep with him for the rest of his life. For my part I wish he had refused such interviews as the two in question and I'd say it's a reasonable bet Juventus will advise him to do so in future, particularly when his present and former teams face each other.
Another debatable point is our management's ongoing interest in Behrami. Because I think he has no remaining interest in Lazio as he isn't Italian unlike bitter laziale Delio Rossi and Paolo Di Canio, and provided he can do what our directors and coach seem to be so sure he can do for us, I don't have a problem with him joining Roma. That said, I know for a fact certain tifosi giallorossi will have welcomed the news today that Cesena are now set to compete with us for his services...
----------------------------------------
DDR out of the Azzurri's game against Serbia with a muscle injury and bruising to his left leg, but hopefully its only a slight knock and it won't keep him out for Genoa at the weekend.
Mirko has he will do the same celebration for Montenegro against the english in Wembley when he scores against them tomorrow night. What a fekkkkin legend boy, I can't think of any better celebration in all of world football then revealing your backside and farting at 80,000 english fans.
Also a good article on about Mexes which raises some interesting points. It talks about Mexes and his fine performance for France against Romania on Saturday and how he is becoming a leader in the heart of the their defence. I watched most of that game and he had a very fine game and dominated the backline and I agree that he can become leader for them (and possibly even their captain, too, as they don't really have a set one, I don't think). The article then goes on to question his position at Roma and his on going contract situation, and how for the Genoa game this Saturday we will have all three of Mexes, Juan and Burdisso fit and ready for this game, and so Ranieri has a conundrum on his hands. I don't think Juan has been away on international duty for Brazil's recent friendlies and Burdisso played only an hour last Friday night for Argentina, so there should be no worries over fitness levels, and so who will play? For me – providing we don't see the same formation which we had against Napoli, which is very unlikely – then I can't see how Mexes would be on the bench. A Juan-Mexes partnership is our best defence at the moment, and Burdisso, who has not been as impressive as last season, should be dropped. But knowing Ranieri's man-love for the Argentinean I think that is unlikely to happen, but on current form he should be left out, I believe. Its unlikely to happen but I just hope Ranieri was watching Mexes play at the weekend – he would be the first name down in our backline as far as I'm concerned.
Unfortunately, according to Professore Castellaci who heads up the Azzurri medical staff, though it's not serious, he thinks De Rossi may miss the Genoa match. That's according to Rai & Mediaset tv text service. They go on to tell us that finally Taddei is again available as too is Perrotta. I hadn't known until today some of the tifosi romani still refer to him as "Super Simo!" I thought that nick had long gone! They also mention that Totti could start on the bench on Saturday and it will be a return to a 4-4-2 module.
At this moment I don't even want to think of the plans of our mister because Rai go on to tell us Big Fatso Adriano will play against Basilea next week...I mean, faced with that prospect, I'm delirious with joy!
There is still a sad lack of other news and so, several of the Roma websites have pounced on the gossip of Francesco Totti's Mercedes 4X4 having its windshield damaged while parked outside his home. As yet no-one knows whether it was a random act of vandalism or a specific gesture against our Capitan'.
Much more importantly, as we all know, the sale of the club has slowed right down because of the World's financial climate...
I read in Vocegiallorossa that none of the 23 interested parties are willing now to make a move without knowing precisely how much will be required to invest in the short term, and of course regarding the future new stadium complex. Contrary to rumour, Angelucci, the "King of the Roma Clinics" did not convince Unicredit during their first informal talk. Besides the team's disappointing results, the figures of the last budget have made the investors proceed with the greatest caution: there was a €21.9 million debit at June 30, with even more black predictions for December. The fact that home game attendances are down by around 10,000 doesn't help any.
As we know, the replacement of Alessandro Profumo by Federico Ghizzoni has caused a further delaying effect and in the meantime therefore, little has changed within the business aspect of Roma. Rosella's "Newco" continues to govern, maintaining the day to day management and salaries.
I was interested to note that Unicredit are due a 5% share of the club's sale price should it exceed €100mil...that's to say, 5% of everything over that figure and not of the total amount when la nostra Roma is sold.
Though I hate what Rosella's management has done to our club, I can't say I'm altogether happy about seeing today that the Villa Pacelli is being advertised by the real estate firms...
I immagine that is an error when it says 'in affitto' Carlo. That the villa is being offered for rent. I have read other articles this morning that it was 'in vendita' or for sale. I assume the latter is correct. I also feel bad about selling a piece of history but again, it would not have come to his if Rosella would have given up the club 3 years ago. The debt load was smaller, and there were serious buyers for the club. The family would not have been forced to sell much of their real estate holdings if she just would have been more cooperative.

Yes Gio, I wasn't completely sure which is why I hadn't said whether it was for rent or sale, just in the hands of the "estate agents" as we call them when we are disposed to giving them their legal trading title as opposed to the usual insults!
Seriously, the longer the sale of our club drags on, the more Rosella may think she work out an angle to stay. That is what really worries me. Despite all that's been said and done!
All the reports have said that the outstanding debt after IP's majority stake in Roma has been sold will be cancelled, that is why UC were able to reach agreement with IP in July so, effectively, selling Roma frees IP of any debt to UC.
My query is not why Rosella did not sell Roma three years ago - for which, incidently, no evidence exists - but why UC took so long to reach the debt-cancellation agreement with IP. The only reason I can think of is that UC believed that someone, somewhere might make an offer substantially higher than the market value of IP's stake and close to the amount of the IP's debt to UC, hence Rosella's continual insistence that she would entertain serious offers. In the absence of such an offer and with the debt being far higher than the market value of its stake, IP had no choice but to wait until UC made the offer which it did this summer.
