Milan want Real Madrid ace Kaka to return to the club, but they have armed themselves for battle with Inter, who are also keen as a transfer battle is sparked.

Panorama.it reports the Milanese clubs will fight each other for the Brazilian, who looks set to leave the Bernabeu with a January exit looking likely.

Reports have linked Inter with Kaka, but they have treated them with short shrift publicly.

Privately though their interest remains high and good relations with Jose Mourinho could tip the scales in their favour.

Inter remained downbeat after seeing Zlatan Ibrahimovic join Milan, and they see a Kaka move as revenge on their rivals.

Milan though are keen not to let that happen. Kaka has been frozen out by injuries, plus the arrivals of Mesut Oezil and Angel Di Maria, and has struggled to settle since his 2009 move there.

Adriano Galliani will use his strong relations with Florentino Perez to forge the apparatus of a move together.

Milan still see Kaka as a prize object and they will jump at the chance to have him back.

Mourinho is said to have told Real Madrid directors his intention to offload Kaka, and Milan have laid out a safety net to catch him. The operation will not be cheap though.

However, the Rossoneri hope to do what they did with Barcelona and Ibrahimovic.

For their part Madrid are keen on seeing Kaka's €9 million per annum wages written off from the club's expenses as retrenchment becomes the new fashion in Spain.

Vito Mannone has cut to the significance a lack of football has had on him, and the upshot could lead to an Arsenal exit.

And he has launched a cry for help towards Milan, hoping they open a Serie A door.

Mannone, 22, is a starter for the Italy under-21 side, but his club career in the Premiershit has run aground.

"I love London, but I play little. I dream of Milan," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I love the Premiershit, but I am always watching Serie A on television.

"I never lose sight of Milan, they have been my dream since I was a child."

Reports suggest Mannone is prepared to move on loan to an Italian club so that he can increase his chances of playing.

Ignazio Abate says he never thought about leaving Milan this summer after establishing himself as a first team regular last season.

The 23-year-old made 30 Serie A appearances for the Rossoneri in the 2009-10 campaign and has featured under Max Allegri as well.

Speaking to the Milan Channel, Abate said: “I am here to be found ready when the Coach needs me.

“I changed position last year with Leonardo. I believe that it's normal to make mistakes, but this season I hope to do well.

“I work hard day after day. Milan expressed good football under the Brazilian Coach. We were in the race for the Scudetto when no one backed us.

“This year we can do better. Great players have arrived. We mustn't hide from it. We can go far.

“Someone wrote that I was on the market, but I have always been calm. Galliani and the mister wanted me and I am fine here.

“I hope to be here for as many years as possible.”

Kaka's father Bosco Leite was spotted at Milan's Via Turati headquarters on Thursday amid reports he was set to return to the club, but they have explained that his visit was only for "bureaucratic reasons."

The Real Madrid man was linked with a return to San Siro by Italian media, and their reports coincided with the visit of his father at the club's offices.

That fuelled speculation Milan were plotting a move for Kaka's return, and those voices gained further momentum when Inter president Massimo Moratti said his club had not started any talks with Madrid.

However, Il Corriere dello Sport claims Milan director Ariedo Braida, who met with Leite, did not make enquiries about a potential return.

Instead, the Rossoneri explained that his father's visit was only related to "bureaucratic reasons."

Kaka has also been linked with a return to Sao Paulo, according to Brazilian reports.

it's likely, because his salary is going to go through the roof next year if he stays in madrid. given that he's not a guaranteed first choice there, it would be a massive gamble for madrid. of course, he would have to take a pay cut to come back to milan. i'm not even sure i would do it.

He would be like Shevchenko v2.0, maybe slightly better, he'll probably bounce in and out of the lineup. If we are to lose Ronaldinho this year, which i don't anticipate, then Kaka is likely to come back. I don't see Milan getting Kaka with Ronnie here, too much salary, too many problems with tactics too. Frankly, I'd prefer Ronnie right now of the 2. In fact, apart from a spell between 2007-09, Ronnie has always been the better of the 2 players.

MILAN, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Ronaldinho would welcome Kaka back to AC Milan with open arms, the Brazilian said on Friday following a raft of speculation linking the Real Madrid man with the club he graced for six years.

Kaka's father and agent was spotted at Milan's headquarters on Thursday but the club said he was there for "bureaucratic reasons".

"If he did return to Milan I would welcome him. He is a great champion and made history with this club," Ronaldinho told reporters after committing his future to Milan for at least the rest of the season.

Media in both Italy and Spain have said Kaka, who has struggled with form and fitness at the Bernabeu, could leave Madrid in January along with potential Inter Milan and Juventus target Karim Benzema.

Inter president Massimo Moratti denied reports earlier in the week that he had held negotiations to bring Kaka to the European champions.

allegri has always played with a central trequartista, rather than the the LW position ronaldinho plays in. my guess is that allegri would prefer a centralized player like kaka' over ronaldinho.

That's a good point.

Against Parma, Ronnie was playing as a trequarsista, we basically played 4-3-1-2..based on the way we played that game, I say we look more solid that way than the 4-3-3 so maybe we should take that system...Ronnie can fit in though, the issue with Ronnie was in the 1st season when him and Kaka were together, it never worked well.

All that said, having seen Kaka's first season at Real, and seeing how injury plagued he's become, it's not a risk worth taking IMO. Even without injuries, he's declined as a player and no longer has that explosiveness that made him the special player he always was. We can see that from his last season at Milan. Still a very good player but not an upgrade over Ronnie....if Robinho was to make way for Kaka, however, I would love that:D
