Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri is planning to leave Ronaldinho out of his team for this week's Champions League clash with Ajax.

Allegri hasn't fallen out with the Brazilian - he merely wants to rotate his squad in view of Milan's congested fixture list.

That means some of the protagonists from Saturday's 1-0 win over Genoa are likely to be rested.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Andrea Pirlo and Kevin-Prince Boateng could also be on the bench, although that depends on the system Milan adopt in Europe.

There is speculation that Allegri could use a 4-4-2 with a diamond in midfield, featuring Clarence Seedorf in the hole behind the strikers.

Robinho should also start, either alongside Ibrahimovic in a 4-4-2 or out wide on the left in a 4-3-3.

The part in Bold interested me somewhat for the case of if Allegri drops Dinho who will he play in the 4-3-3? will it be Ibra and Binho on the wings with Pippo upfront? which if this is the case it leaves us little fresh options on the bench to change the strikers around, also if Pirlo and KPB are benched who will be in the 3 or 4 man mid, Seedorf,Flamini,Rino and ? (? because i am not aware that Ambro is fit again)

I dont buy this report...you dont bench Ronaldinho, not when Pato is already unavailable...Ronaldinho is the most skillful player in the team and when he's on his game he's unmatched in the world, he can win u a game in one moment of genius...you do not leave him on the bench, I know he had a bad couple of games but still

Boateng and Pirlo on bench? WTF??

I'd like Seedorf to start this one, he shines in CL games and this is an ex-team, so most likely he'll whip it out against them (if not, then Real will get his wrath for sure lol)...would like to see Seedorf playing a bit more advanced

I do like us to play for the win though, this is the kind of games that Carletto's Milan used to be always fired up for...let's hope Allegri can do the same

Luciano Moggi believes Milan's emblem of power, authority and success is being carried by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will fire them to the Scudetto.

Moggi, the former Juventus transfer director, brought 'Ibra' to Italy when he signed him for Juve from Ajax in 2004.

And with the striker being reunited with Calcio this summer, Moggi says the outlook is good for Milan as he predicts them to win the title.

"There are players who can change the team and a game on their own in a flash. Ibrahimovic is one of these," Moggi told Ilsussidiario.net.

"He is world class and he needs to be in the best conditions to perform at his best.

"Thanks to him the Scudetto race will be between Milan and Inter."

Ajax drew 2-2 away to FC Twente at weekend and have a few players who can cuase Milan problems, most notably Uruguay's 4th keeper in the WC - Luis Suarez.

ronaldinho's sucked it up for the past 4 games. he hasn't done shit offensively nor does he mark his players properly either. ajax have one of the best right fullback prospect in the world with van der wiel, dropping ronaldinho to be aware of that threat could be a slick move on allegri's part.

then again, the game should be way more open, i would prefer flamini to start over seedorf, and seedorf to start over ronaldinho.

i prefer ibra as a second striker rather than leading the line, he can play both, but he's more free as the secunda punta. and watching pippo lead the line is like watching pirlo in the midfield, they are both in a class that no other players can dream of.

Clarence Seedorf has indicated that Milan do not fear Ajax, but they do respect their Champions League opponents.

"We do not fear them, but we respect Ajax," explained the Dutchman. "Our objective, as at the start of all seasons, is to win every competition. We have many new players, we are trying to construct something important and our objective is victory."

Seedorf won the Champions League with Ajax in 1995. However, he does not foresee a return to the Netherlands.

"My future? It is more than probable that it will be in Italy," remarked the Rossoneri midfielder.

Agreed Pippo leading the line and give Ibra a Second striker role give him freedom to move and drift around so he can do his thing, then we can switch it up with Binho or Dinho to come on later in the second half.

also, i agree that pippo shouldn't start. he's much mroe effective as a sub, but i would sub him in early - like, right at the beginning of the second half.
