I did not expect this kind of a transfer market from us. We desperately needed another striker, we could have at least taken Sculli. If the strikers stay fit we can manage till the January window, scraping through the CL group stages but the pressure in the league is going to be high. We need to keep up the pace.

Anyway there is no guarantee again that we will go and get someone in January. Is there?

Frank, till january we have the league, CL & the world cup for clubs. There was really too much at stake in these 4 months to risk this. Hell even Roma with all their debts did make a good transfer window and actually spent more than us... Was it that hard to at least get a striker on loan? For crying out loud, keep at least you most promsing primavera striker, Mattia Destro, instead of loaning him out.
Yes Suazo is still there as is Mancini. But really I fail to understand what use they might be. I'd rather go for a primavera striker than anyone of them.

Really I cant help but to find similarities between these events and Milan post 2007. They had a relatively old squad back then and they stopped investing, thinking that their squad was good enough as it was. Oh lord..

I get the feeling that benitez was brought in to be the scapegoat for the supporters. Most of us dont have any faith in the guy and have already started pointing fingers at him for our first results. Now come the end of the season, if we end up empty handed, most of us will blame benitez, when in fact it's been weeks and months that Benitez's been saying he needs reinforcements. Monday's game was a real demonstration of how thin our bench is. Milito was out of form and the only subs available were Biabiany & Coutinho. We have nobody who can really sub an injured striker and nobody who can change the match if stalled on a draw...

‘Keeping Maicon was Inter's Ibra’

Inter’s chief technical director Marco Branca believes the best bit of business he did this summer was keeping Douglas Maicon.

The Brazil international full-back was in talks with Real Madrid, but decided to stay after they balked at his personal terms.

Inter have been very quiet in the transfer market recruitment-wise.

They sold Mario Balotelli to Manchester City in an effort to balance the books ahead of UEFA’s financial fair-play laws coming into effect in 2012.

Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Branca said: “I don’t understand the disappointment of Inter’s fans.

“We have kept the same team as last season, which brought us all the trophies. The real coup was that of keeping Maicon, the best full-back in the world.

“We couldn’t have bought Fabregas and Schweinsteiger and it’s illogical to buy Mascherano for €22m,” he concluded.
