sure, we didn't sign any notable fullbacks, but bonera looked solid, he won't offer much of an attacking threat down the right, but we have antonini who'll offer the width from the fullbacks. we've got plenty of backup. not to mention that urugayan kid montolongo. he is too old for the primavera, so i'm sure he'll be training with the first team.

it's a loan for 2 mil and an option to buy for 13 more, so even if his value rises, we sell for 13 if they bite. worse case scenario: he spends the whole year on the bench and comes back to us and is worth 2 million. best case, he scores 30 goals and is worth 30 million, but roma get relegated and can't afford to dish out the extra 13 million and we sell him for 30 to man city.

Adriano Galliani has extolled club supremo Silvio Berlusconi for signing Ibrahimovic and Robinho.

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has showered praise on club supremo Silvio Berlusconi for completing the deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho in the closing stages of the summer transfer period.

The Rossoneri landed Ibrahimovic from Barcelona on a season-long loan with an option to purchase him outright and on Tuesday signed Robinho from Manchester City on a four-year contract.

Speaking to Sky Sport 24 on Tuesday evening, Milan's Galliani said, "These two signings were a great present to all the supporters from Silvio Berlusconi.

"Robinho will wear the number 70 shirt, Ibrahimovic will have the No. 11. Robinho cost €18 million plus bonuses.

"For so many years I have not seen Berlusconi so in love with Milan. On Sunday Ibrahimovic told me to go and buy Robinho also."

Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola added, "I never spoke with Milan about Maxwell. He is very happy at Barcelona."

On Tuesday striker Marco Borriello left Milan to join Roma and told Sky Sport 24, "I am happy, it is an important move for my career. I will speak more tomorrow."

Jesus, never MIND Zlatan and Robinho, I've just been watching the first-half of Milan-Lecce, and no messing but Ronaldinho was just sensational. He really looked like the Ronaldinho of Barcelona, not just full of tricks (and there were some tricks, that fake and back-foot cross just before half-time was amazing) but really looked menacing and created countless chances. Fair enough, it may of been only little Lecce at home and their heads may of dropped, but he was just brilliant. Pato wasn't half bad either.

The team is far from perfect for sure, tec, but it's a massive improvement over last year...besides, it usually takes more than one summer to build a truely great team....while I see us as serious contenders now for Scudetto and CL, if we keep moving in this direction next summer, then we're looking at great things in 2012 - end of the world aside

I think we're OK in net...our starting CB are world class but with no real cover...our situation with fullbacks is average and this is probably our weakest point

As for midfield, with the additions of Boateng, who is looking pretty good so far, as well as a potentially rejuvenated Flamini, who has the full confidence of il mister apparently, we're definitely set there...I'm counting Ronaldinho and Robinho (more so than Pato) as pseudo midfielders too since essentially that what they do in our new formation on the wide side of the attacking third...as for attack, well no need to say much there lol

I'm more happy with the return of il cavaliere than anything. Even Galliani said "For so many years I have not seen Berlusconi so in love with Milan. " This is music to my ears

My only worry is Milan not playing with a crazy attacking lineup to accommodate all the attacking talent we have...if we play 4-2-4 or 4-2-3-1...the latter is a formation I generally like but it requires 2 pure DMs which means Pirlo is out (unless he plays as a trequartista, which I dont see for sure)....so no go...they key is a balanced lineup like our game on Sunday...the 4-3-3 with Pato and Dinho playing behind Ibra is the way to go IMO

allegri shouldn't even consider playing all 4 of them together. it disrupts the balance of the team, especially for pirlo who isn't as effective in a 2 man midfield as he is with a 3 man midfield.

4 players for those 3 positions is more than enough, with robinho and pato versatile enough to play anywhere along the front 3.

this is a huge jump in quality, the pressure is on allegri and the players to deliver us some results, but with style. i can't wait until our next game, and i hope that these signings pack the san siro again.

for sure this team is a huge step up from the team of the past two seasons, no disputing that, and i am actually excited about this season, which i haven't been since 2005/2006. the cl win in 2007 was un unexpected fluke. that said, i still don't think we are serious cl contenders, though we will make a run for the scudetto.
