Schalke complete move for Huntelaar

Klaas Jan Huntelaar has become the first big-name player to move clubs on the final day of the current transfer window after joining Bundesliga club Schalke from AC Milan. The Holland international, 27, has made a €13million switch to Gelsenkirchen - joining former Real Madrid team-mate Raul, who signed earlier this summer.

Schalke boss Felix Magath told Bild newspaper: 'Negotiations were tougher than expected. I am happy to have Klaas Jan. He will help us.'

Huntelaar has failed to fully establish himself at first Real and then Milan since leaving Ajax in January 2009, scoring 15 goals in 50 appearances in that time.

But he was prolific during his time in Amsterdam, finding the net 80 times in 104 games after joining from Eerstedivisie side AGOVV Apeldoorn.

'Klaas Jan wants to continue his career at Schalke. Schalke and Milan have agreed on a transfer fee of about Ç13 million,' read an article on his personal website, www.klaasjanhuntelaar.com.

'It is true I never wanted to leave Milan but that changed when Zlatan Ibrahimovic came from Barcelona,' he said. Schalke have moved to liven up their side after losing their opening two Bundesliga games of the season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport understands Milan have done a deal for Manchester City fantasista Robinho, but first they must sell players.

The Rossoneri have apparently used the same formula to land the Brazilian as they did with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the weekend, a loan for a year, then an option to buy, this time for €15m.

La Gazzetta understands that Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola flew to England yesterday afternoon to handle the Robinho transfer.

Raiola has already held negotiations with City this summer when another of his high profile clients Mario Balotelli moved to Eastlands from Inter.

La Gazzetta claims City gave the green light at 'a certain hour' last night, prompting Adriano Galliani to organise a private jet for 8:30am this morning.

However, Milan must first make room for the Brazil international before his arrival. Galliani is currently working on selling Marco Borriello to Juventus.

The two clubs have apparently reached an agreement whereby Juventus will loan the 28-year-old with the option to sign him for €13m next summer.

Meanwhile Schalke appear to have signed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for €14m, facilitating the Robinho deal that little bit further.

Robinho is rubbing his hands together at the prospect of signing a contract with Milan, but that depends on Marco Borriello, who won't join Juventus on loan, but will accept a permanent deal.

The Brazilian arrived in Milan for his medical with the club and declared his position and optimism over joining the Italian club from Manchester City.

"I am very happy and I hope that all goes well and i can enjoy success with Milan. I hope I can show our attack will be strong," Robinho told the press.

"I Haven't spoken to Alexandre Pato or Ronaldindinho. I am very happy and I hope that all goes well.

"I am happy. I want to play with Milan because they are an excellent squad. I want to win the Scudetto."

But, Sky Sport Italia claim Milan sources have noted that the deal for Robinho cannot go through unless Borriello joins Juventus.

As things stand Milan have an agreement with both Manchester City and Robinho.

But, Borriello has spoken to Juventus and told them he will only join them on a permanent deal, ruling out Roma who were interested in the hitman, but they don't have the funds to sign him on those terms.

Borriello told Sky Sport Italia: "I will only accept a permanent move."

The emphasis now is with Juventus, Borriello and Milan to consider a permanent deal, the only solution to ensuring Robinho completes his move.
