tec, I agree about the quality of depth issue with the defense, but disagree about the defense itself being bad...if Nesta and Thiago Silva are both fit and healthy most of the time, we've got one of the best central defense pairing in the world, maybe even the best. The problem, we have no adequate cover there if one goes down, which is bound to happen at some point...Yepes, Onyewu are scrubs whereas jury is still out on Sokratis, he's likely decent enough to be a Bonera at best

The fullbacks, we've got plenty of quantity but not equal quality...I don't think the situation there is terribly bad but it is definitely not the best..our best bet is to play the right players at the right time when they're in form....whether it's Zambro,Bonera,Antonini, Abate, Oddo or even Montelongo...Allegri has to roll the dice there

Midfield should be better this year with Boateng (he looked very good today) and Allegri seemingly in favour of Flamini (not sure why he didn't play today)...attack for sure is now our strong point, and based on today's brilliant display, we're more than set there and will be winning quite a few games just based on the sheer quality there

Our starting XI is more or less the same level as Inter IMO, but they do have more depth than us and that's the main challenge for us..we will be better than last year because of the additions we made, and also because we're much better coached than last year...Allegri really seems to have the got into the players heads and got them believing in themselves again, I like it so far

flamini was out injured today, thats why he didnt play.

it was interesting to see boateng play as a right winger today, he didn't blow it away or anything, but it shows that allegri sees him as an attacking threat rather than a solid midfielder.

also, galliani hasn't officially closed our market yet, something which makes him jizz his pants every season. and now berlusconi has said that we could get one more champion before the market ends, some saying it could be robinho some saying it could be maxwell. whatever the case, i'm not sure why these idiots always leave it late to get the players. it hurts the development of team chemistry.

I'm just trying to explain 'tec's comment, de Mann. I didn't understand what he meant at first either, but I'm guessing that's what he's saying (rather than refering to the transfer fee set if you want to make the move permanent). You could probably have persuaded our lot to sell Vucinic for 24 mil and then only needed another 5 or 6 for his wages. That, I take it, is 'tec's point in outline.

they have iaquinta, The Waterboy, amauri and they just got quagriaalksjdfdasella. i don't see borriello going to juve. i'm concerned about robinho, but now we're being linked to maxwell on barca.

if we get maxwell, this will be our best transfer season in nearly 8 years.

Borriello would be a perfect fit at Rube - in their 4-4-2. Quags and Borriello would be a natural first-choice pair and Rube's ugly-fuck get the ball wide and cross it in would suit Borriello. And Robinho would be quite a good fit for you guys - giving you some real options once any of your first-choice front three go down with injuries etc. At the moment, without either Pato or Ronaldinho, who plays down the wings? Whereas if 'Ibra' were to go down you could play Pato or Robinho through the middle. Remember Huntelaar down the right last season? Not a good look for Milan.
