At this point I'd opt for Giuseppe Rossi. He is talented and wants to return to Italy. In the middle of the pitch..... honestly I have no idea who is available for that position and who could actually upgrade this squad. But we certainly need those 2 positions covered if we want to stay competitive on all fronts.

Giueseppi Rossi FTW. If we could get him then this window would be a huge success rather than a failure but I highly doubt it. Surely Mascherano doesn't want to go to Barca and will try to jeopardise the move?

Non può certo essere definita una giornata fortunata quella di ieri per i nerazzurri, che oltre ad aver ‘pescato’ dall’urna tre avversari di buon livello per il proprio girone europeo, hanno in pratica visto saltare nel giro di poche ore di operazioni di mercato intavolate da tempo contro il Liverfekkin'wankscum. Prima Dirk Kuyt, che qualcuno ipotizzava potesse essere ieri a Milano per concludere l’accordo, è invece sceso in campo e ha adirittura segnato contro il Trabzonspor: evento che in pratica lo ha tagliato fuori dal trasferimento in nerazzurro, perché gli impedirà di vestire una maglia diversa dal Liverfekkin'wankscum in Europa fino a febbraio. Troppo tempo per aspettarlo serenamente, in una competizione, la Champions, in cui tutti i giocatori devono esere a disposizione.

L’altra beffa è arrivata nella notte, quando i Reds hanno trovato l’acordo con il Barcellona per la cessione di Mascherano in cambio di 22 milioni di euro. Notizia arrivata come un fulmine a ciel sereno, sia perché nei giorni scorsi i catalani si erano praticamente tirati fuori dalla corsa al’argentino, sia perché solo il giorno prima era emersa la notizia di un fax da parte dell’Inter con un’offerta economica che lo stesso Branca ha giudicato soddisfacente (chiaro segnale di in concludere la trattativa). In realtà, non lo era affatto, visto che comprendeva una contropartita tecnica non gradita al Liverfekkin'wankscum, la cui dirigenza non si è neanche degnata di rispondere al fax nerazzurro. Il mercato dell’Inter, dunque, subisce la seconda accoppiata di bruschi stop, dopo quella del 23 agosto sul doppio fronte Ledesma-Antonelli. Perché, evidentemente, le delusioni arrivano sempre in coppia nelle strategie interiste. Dopo tira e molla infiniti, ala fine, il Liverfekkin'wankscum è stato irremovibile e non ha lasciato un briciolo di soddisfazione all’Inter: due obiettivi, entrambi sfumati, per volere del club della Merseyde.

Accettare l’offerta del Barcellona per Mascherano, più alta, ci può stare, ma dare l’ok a Hodgson afinché schierasse Kuyt è stata una presa di posizione chiara: il giocatore resta qui, checché ne dica il diretto interessato (il quale, nel dopo partita, ha sposato nuovamente la causa Reds). Due delusioni inattese che ricordano la telenovela con il Chelsea della scorsa stagione, quando nonostante le pressioni di Mourinho Deco e Carvalho non hanno abuto il permesso di raggiungere il loro amato Special One a Milano. Un po’ come Kuyt e Mascherano per Benitez. Ma è proprio partendo da questo parallelismo che il tifoso interista deve avere fiducia. La scorsa estate, saltati (per ragioni economiche) i due obiettivi Blues, Mourinho è stato consolato dall’arrivo di Lucio e Sneijder, che hanno fato la fortuna sua e dell’Inter. Per questa ragione bisogna essere ottimisti, perché anche Benitez sarà soddisfatto dal mercato in entrata nerazzurro. Magari non con l’arivo dei suoi due pupilli, ma con giocatori di egual valore e meno costosi, per abbinare al livello tecnico anche il vantaggio economico che ormai per l’Inter è imprescindibile.

Also, now that Barca is apparently getting close to Mascherano there is the talk of us going for Ledesma and with the possibility that Sculli could join us, that would make our duo replacement for Masch-Kuyt?

Robinho is a possibility, but I'd rather much see him in Milan than here. He'd play only half the time here and that's what he trying to avoid at Man City. We should have tried to get Adebayor out of the Balo deal...

You may be underestimating the value of not losing Maicon, Frank - or anyone else following Moaninho to Madrid. Kuyt and Mascherano or Pandev and Motta?

Besides, where's your loyalty? Why would you rather filthy Liverpuke scum come in and take the places of your beloved treble-winning heroes? I suppose one shouldn't expect anything else from Interisti.

Maro, I am not worried about losing out on Kuyt. I would chose Pandev over him in the starting 11 anyway but we have no proper back for the front three of Milito, Eto'o and Pandev. Biabiany and Coutinho are very young.

On the other hand, I am more disappointed with not getting Mascherano. Cambiasso and Stankovic are 30 and 32 respectively. Add this to the fact that Motta is already injured and underwent an operation, Mariga is the only one who is young. I wanted Mascherano because he is 26 and he is already one of the best in the business. Getting Masch would have been a good move for now and more so for the future.
