I believe we should first know the name of the LB we'll get before saying that our fullback wont push much. Granted whoever will be wont be a Maicon, but that we'll have to see. Also I wouldn’t say Santon doesn’t push much. Again, he is no Maicon but he does like to push forward.
At first maybe I too was a little reluctant on Mascherano, but now I believe he will be important to us as we currently have no real world class player at the top of his career in that department. Cambiasso is probably an even better player than Mascherano, but we all know Cambiasso is in the descendent curve of his career. Mascherano will become vital to this team especially the year after the next, as Cambiasso slows down even more. Unfortunately, we either take him now or never.

E' stata ratificata oggi la cessione della metà del cartellino di Andrea Ranocchia dal Genoa all'Inter. I liguri e i nerazzurri si sono incontrati oggi e hanno siglato l'accordo per 6,5 milioni di euro. E' quanto ha riferito questa sera la redazione di Sky Sport.

Il giocatore rimarrà in rossoblu almeno fino a gennaio del 2011. A quel punto si farà il punto della situazione e non è escluso che, se Ranocchia dovesse già aver dimostrato di aver recuperato perfettamente dall'infortunio al ginocchio, il giocatore possa approdare in nerazzurro già dal mercato invernale.

Il probabile trasferimento di Balotelli al Manchester City, sta facendo discutere non solo i tifosi dell'Inter, ma l'intera Italia calcistica. Molti trovano inspiegabile che Moratti si privi di uno dei migliori prodotti degli ultimi anni del settore giovanile italiano, proprio mentre la nazionale azzurra, dopo il clamoroso tonfo dei Mondiali, è alla disperata ricerca di giovani talenti su cui puntare per rifondare e rilanciare il calcio italiano. Purtroppo, però, spesso dimentichiamo che il calcio moderno, a differenza di quello di venti anni fa, non è più sano campanilismo, non è più colore, folklore ed attaccamento alla maglia e, naturalmente, neanche spirito patriotico e nazionalismo. Oggi, in un panorama dominato dal marketing, dai diritti televisivi, e dagli sponsor, con i calciatori trasformati da bandiere dei club in aziende con fatturato miliardario, governate da agenti a volte cinici e spietati o prestanomi di avidi personaggi di famiglia, non c'è più spazio per il sentimentalismo, figuriamoci per il nazionalismo.
Con l'esperienza che ho maturato in tanti anni di calcio, prima di scrivere penso, poi rifletto ed alla fine libero con sicurezza la penna ed affermo: io sto dalla parte di Moratti. Quanto sentimento, usò il presidente nerazzurro, qualche anno fa, nella gestione di un altro impareggiabile e problematico talento giovanile, arrivato, quasi per caso, nell'affare Vampeta, che rispondeva al nome di Adriano. Per l'Imperatore, rifiutate offerte stratosferiche, quando era poco più che ventenne, con la sola conseguenza di una serie di rinnovi ed aumenti contrattuali fino al raggiungimento di un ingaggio decuplicato nei secoli dei secoli. Risultato? Un talento perduto, poca gratitudine, in campo e fuori, nonchè un capitale ridotto a parametro zero. La Balotelli story sembra la replica estiva della telenovela Adriano. Stesso immenso talento, stesse discutibili abitudini di vita, stessi capricci ed un manager che lavora soltanto per il suo trasferimento. Sbagliare è umano, ma perseverare è diabolico, perciò, Moratti fa bene ad incassare tutti quei milioni del Manchester City ed a rinvestire il ricavato su campioni che avranno più a cuore di Mario la maglia dell'Inter e la potenzieranno realmente e non solo virtualmente e prospetticamente.

I don't agree with "better all round" midfielder because Cambiasso isn't all that round but we'll see. I read the Benitez interview where he says the team has asked him to play more with the ball so I'm waiting to see how this will be achieved without a pure ball player in the middle. It's even more important now that we sign Oezil who'll be capable of giving the team more creativeness from out wide since we'll lose it in the center.

Also, the Genoa sports director has said that 50% of Rano to Inter is official even though it hasn't been announced, Destro to Genoa on loan is official and co-ownership of Krhin to Bologna for about 3mil will be official when we get back from our pre-season tour.

It's all about points of view. Rafa said he wants us to play with a defensive line which is placed more forward than what it was last year so that might help as the lines would be much closer to each other. Also from what he's said, it is possible that we might see Sneijder play as a midfielder more frequently in a 4-3-3 formation, with Cambiasso alongside him & a DM (who other than masch..?) behind them.
Let's just hope they know what they're doing.
With regards the LB, if we sell Maicon, I have no doubts we will buy another LB. Even though we dont have links to names, we will get a LB. Then again, Zanetti might end up playing all the games just the same...

Don't you think Sneijder has actually played in that sort of role for most of the past 6 months, Lomba? Given how defensive the Dutch were at the World Cup it seemed to me Sneijder was much more visible defensively than going forward (and his contributions when going forward were either from set pieces or were through balls which actually came from quite deep) and I think the same thing applied against Bayern and Barca for you guys. For me, he's been playing as part of a defensively responsible midfield three - the most attacking-minded of the three, for sure, but not what one would call a conventional 'attacking midfielder' or trequartista.

Andrea Ranocchia signs five-year contract

MILAN - The documents relating to Inter and Genoa's co-ownership of defender Andrea Ranocchia have been registered at the Lega Serie A's offices.

Born in Bastia Umbria on 16 February 1988, Ranocchia started out at Perugia before making his professional debut for Arezzo in Serie B at the age of 18. He then helped Bari to a promotion spot before making his Serie A debut. Ranocchia, who has represented Italy at every youth level, made his debut for the Under-21 side when still 19. With Inter he has signed a five-year deal until 30 June 2015.

FC Internazionale and Genoa have agreed that Andrea Ranocchia will remain at the Liguria club in 2010/11.

Il Real Madrid cambia strategia: per Maicon 22 milioni e ultimatum

Le merengues, secondo quanto riportato da Marca, avrebbero concesso una settimana ai nerazzurri per decidere

Il paradosso è servito. Da corteggiatore, il Real Madrid ha deciso di trasformarsi in corteggiato e ha lancianto una sorta di ultimatum all'Inter nella vicenda Maicon: se volete cedere il brasiliano, lo fai alle nostre condizioni, vale a dire 22 milioni di euro. Altrimenti ve lo tenete e rinunciate ai nostri soldi. Questo, secondo l'edizione odierna di Marca, il messaggio che la Casa Blanca avrebbe fatto recapitare in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, dove avrebbero una settimana di tempo per decidere se accettare o meno l'offerta, la più bassa tra quelle di cui si è parlato nelle ultime settimane. In pratica, le posizioni tra i club si sarebbero ribaltate, con il Real Madrid ancora interessato a Maicon (più per richiesta esplicita di Mourinho che per entusiasmo di Perez) ma non disposto ad accettare la richiesta di almeno 30 milioni per il laterale brasiliano.

Fino a ieri, almeno secondo quanto riportato da As, le merengues sembrava si fosserro concesse 24 ore per chiudere laa trattativa. Oggi la strategia sembra cambiata e Moratti si troverebbe a dover decidere se accettare quanto viene proposto dalla Spagna (una miseria, considerato la quotazione del miglior interprete al mondo del suo ruolo), oppure rinunciare a vendere il giocatore e fare cassa, come preventivato prima che Balotelli entrasse in odore di cesssione. A queste condizioni, considerata la ferrea resistenza di Moratti in questa trattativa, è difficile che il presidente assecondi questa sorta di 'ricatto' madridista, dal momento che la società non haa alcuna necessità di vendere, né tantomeno di svendere i suoi fuoriclasse. Maicon e Balotelli lascerebbero l'Inter solo di fronte a offerte irrinunciabili, forse questo concettto in casa Real non è stato ancora recepito.

Per questo Perez starebbe tentando una strategia alternativa, una sorta di psicologia inversa, convinto del bluff di Moratti che, a suo dire, in realtà avrebbe bisogno di cedere Maicon adesso per paura, tra un anno, di non poter incassare una cifra importante. Il tutto, senza dare parrticolare importanza all'inserimento del Manchester City, che potrebbe farsi avanti con una cifra ben superiore ai 22 milioni sul tavolo. L'evoluzione della trattativa avverrà nei prossimi giorni, anche perché il 25 luglio l'Inter volerà negli Stati Uniti e probabilmente al suo arrivo verrà raggiunta dal giocatore, ancora in vacanza.

Maicon May Remain At Inter If Real Madrid Act On 'Ultimatum' - Agent
Caliendo not impressed with reports of a Blancos ultimatum...

Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo won't be pushed into a deal by Real Madrid as he applies the breaks with the Spanish club, who are growing impatient with Inter.

Marca had claimed earlier today that Real Madrid were putting strain on the Italians into selling their star right-back by issuing a €22 million ultimatum.

Inter have been holding out for €35m, but Madrid are reportedly ready to pressure the Nerazzurri into a take-it-or-leave-it deal.

However, Caliendo feels Los Blancos are not helping themselves by meddling given the fact that Maicon still hasn't spoken to new coach Rafael Benitez.

"Ultimatum from Madrid? We dont know anything about this, but it would be disrepectful," Caliendo told Sky Sport Italia.

"If things stay like this then he will remain at Inter. Maicon has not spoken with Benitez.

"I have tried to keep Maicon away from all the transfer talk because he deserved three weeks to himself to switch off from all the market dramas."
