Cordoba wanted by Sinisa

New Fiorentina boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is said to be keen on signing former Inter teammate Ivan Cordoba.

The Colombian defender is approaching his 34th birthday, but the Serb is interested in adding him to his Viola squad.

It’s understood that the Tuscan giants are prepared to offer the Italian and European champions close to €4m for the defender.

Inter may well sell given that the South American was only considered as a back-up to Walter Samuel and Lucio last term.

In total, he was used on just 26 occasions by Jose Mourinho during a campaign where Inter collected the treble.

I am not so sure about selling Cordoba. He has been one of our very loyal players and I would like to see him finish his career at Inter like Zanetti and Matrix. Unless of course he wants to move on.

We should not be turning the club into a business like Madrid do, thinking about selling Raul, their symbol.

If he wants to leave and he's guaranteed a first team spot then why not I'd say. Problem is this could mean Rano comes earlier when it's probably best he stays out on loan for at least 6 months so..

Indeed Dejan, if Cordoba moves out, I beleive its because Ranocchia will join this year. But it may also mean that we will buy a LB and that Chivu will be used in the middle..

Chivu is a central defender first & foremost, so he can easily be used there in case one of Samuel & Lucio is missing. Also, I beleive we are forgetting that Burdisso is currently an Inter player...Could it be we'd rather sell Cordoba instead of Burdisso??
Lazio have recently refused a 19M offer from Man. City.....what chance do we have to get him?Especially now that Lotito is in a personal war with us over the Pandev issue. Also he's not worth all that money.

19M, lol! He can't be serious. If we can't get 11 more than that for Maicon, what chance does he have. Can we rely on Chivu as backup? No doubting his talent but he does like his injury breaks. I suppose we also have Matrix, Rivas and as you said Burdisso. Also, is Kerlon going to be playing for us next season or will he be loaned out again?

There is Matrix and up till now Burdisso. Chivu has his injuries true, but he has to be considered as a back up. It’s impossible to have too many players in the same role. Injuries are always a risk. Rivas will most probably be loaned out for his last year of contract to Brescia. Same as Suazo. We are building a good relationship with Brescia because they have always had some interesting youngsters (remember Hamsik??) and apparently they have 2 very interesting youngsters which interest our club too.
Kerlon….2 days ago it has been confirmed he has to undergo yet another surgery which will kepp him out for at least another 6 months..This guy’s got some real luck..

I'm not opposed to Burdisso staying after his season at Roma especially as a backup defender. Zanetti will play almost every single match at LB anyway so Chivu should be free to play when needed at CB too.

Do you guys think Branca gets pissed at Moratti? Just today, he comes out and says Balo and Maicon have never had prices allocated to them and will not be put on the market. All this after Moratti has been saying we must sell for practically 2 months and undermining any decent price we can get for our players. Both scenarios could be true but at least present a united front.

As far as I know, Destro's move to Genoa is a loan with an option to buy half at the end of the season. Does anyone know if that's right? I don't mind co-owning players with Genoa now as they won't bitch and moan about the prices and while they'd hopefully make a nice profit, our players like Destro could end up getting some decent game time.

Yes Dejan, too many times they've been contradicting each other, though it seems pretty obvious that for the right price, every player could be sold. Branca's a little too conservative when he talks though. He simply says the obvious.

You are right about Destro. Genoa took him on a 1 year loan with an option to buy half I believe at around 1.5M. I know it's very low, but that is a way to keep our co-operation going. Sell half for low and re-buy in case the guy is a hit for a bigger sum, so that Genoa makes a profit for playing the guy. Apart from Genoa, we are making ties with Brescia, Parma & Bologna. We are quite frankly becoming a dictatorship in Italy...

So, the Destro deal is part of the deal in which we get half of Ranocchia, right?

Real Madrid Chiefs Decide To Spend €35 Million On Inter's Maicon
Mourinho convinces Real chiefs that Maicon is worth Inter's €35m fee...

Real Madrid chiefs have met coach Jose Mourinho to seek further clarification on plans for Inter defender Maicon, according to Sportmediaset.it.

The meeting is said to have taken place at the Bernabeu in which those present discussed ways forward in relation to the Maicon move which seems to have been cut short over a disagreement on his fee.

So far Real have made a €25 million offer which was not considered by the Italian champions who are holding up for €35 million. Florentino Perez has been reluctant in increasing their offer, leaving business unfinished.

But, Mourinho pushed his bosses into topping up their bid as he is eager for Maicon to arrive. He still has six weeks to make a final decisions and the time will give him scope to test Sergio Ramos on the right flank.
