Report: Carvalho in Inter talks

Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho is reportedly in Italy for final talks over a move to Inter.
The Portuguese international had already been in negotiations for a transfer last summer and in January.

Despite the fact mentor Jose Mourinho has now moved on to Real Madrid, Carvalho is still hoping to join the Nerazzurri.

According to The Telegraph, the 32-year-old is currently in Italy for final talks with Inter.

There were also reports he was speaking to rivals Milan, but it seems that he’ll come down on the blue and black side of San Siro.

It is also believed Carlo Ancelotti is ready to release Carvalho so that 28-year-old Bruno Alves can arrive from Porto.

Serie A - Moratti handed three-month ban

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has been banned from running the club for three months for discussing a transfer deal with suspended Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi.

The Italian football federation said in a statement that Moratti had been punished for talking to Preziosi over last year's purchases of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta despite the Genoa owner being banned from representing his club.
Preziosi was given another six-month sanction on top of the multiple extra suspensions he has racked up for running the club despite a five-year ban for irregularities at previous side Como.
The big-spending Genoa owner has largely ignored the bans and carried on his business knowing the federation would struggle to enforce the suspension and the only further punishment he would receive would be extended bans.
The situation is likely to be the same with Moratti, who can delegate some responsibilities to deputies but remains the de facto club president given the federation can do little to limit his private activity.
Champions League winners Inter, who also won a domestic double last term when Jose Mourinho was coach, have yet to make any new buys under new boss Rafael Benitez but Ricardo Quaresma has been sold to Besiktas ahead of the Serie A season starting on August 28.

So we've sold Filkor, Daminuta and Fossati to Milan for 7 mil. Filkor and Daminuta apparently didn't really impress anyone in their loan spells but the real loss would be Fossati who had big raps on him.

Marco Ezio Fossati è sicuramente un talento. L'etichetta di nuovo Pirlo è sicuramente pesante per il momento ma il centrocampista classe 1992 ha certamente delle qualità importanti. Ci si chiede come mai l'Inter lo abbia perso, per di più cedendolo ai rivali rossoneri. E' presto spiegato: il ragazzo e il suo entourage hanno rifiutato qualsiasi proposta di rinnovo del contratto, un contratto che scadeva nel 2011. La società nerazzurra gli ha anche promesso di aggregarlo alla prima squadra per la tournee estiva negli Stati Uniti, ma è stato tutto inutile. Il ragazzo ha rifiutato qualsiasi proposta, e la società non ha potuto far altro che inserirlo nell'operazione Mancini, assicurandosi quantomeno un conguaglio adeguato.

Fossati hasnt played a match for the primavera for almost 2 years, because he wanted a contract of a big player, which would obviously end up having other primavera players wanting a better contract. He did the same thing 3 years ago when he was at Milan... It seems this player, though quite talented will become a good problem in the next few years. Better this than ruining our primavera.
P.S. Milan have been critisized for not buying players for their first squad but for th past 2 years, they have been drugging the Primavera market with ridiculous amounts of money. In Italy no one used to offer more than 1-1.5M for a youngster, Milan are now spending huge bucks and this could radically change the market..

Rumors now say Inter and Juve have an interest in Elia who would be a great buy imo. Problem is any player who has 1 m.o.m performance is now worth 25mil and anyone who has a good season has a 100m buyout clause.

Dejan, Milan has spent in the past year or so, 5-6x what we have spent for youth players. And they've spent all that on less players than what we got in. That is why I'm saying, Milan are drugging the local youth market, as now every club who has young prospective talent is starting to ask 2+ million for a kid. Unfortunately Milan had been static for decades on their youth system and instead of programming in the long run, they opted to spend and have a ready to go youth academy (their primavera last year won the Coppa Italia), with the highest wages average among all Prima clubs in Italy. No one can certainly reprimend them...if they want to spend it's their business. Problem is that this will have an even worse inpact on the growth of Italian youths....but of course, the problem for the FIGC was the extra non-Eu player...
I didnt hear about Elia, but I dont think we're looking for someone like that. Not after we brought back Biabiany.

Zanetti still hungry for success

Inter Milan defender Javier Zanetti has revealed he wants to win two more Serie A titles before retiring from football.

Zanetti told Gazzetta dello Sport: "When will I stop playing? Next month I will be 37 years old, but not before we have won the second star will I retire. We currently have 18 Scudetti, so we need another two. I'm hungry - very hungry."

Inter are the early favourites to claim a sixth successive Serie A title this season, despite Jose Mourinho leaving for Real Madrid.

"Obviously with the departure of Mourinho we lose a lot, but with [Rafael] Benitez, I expect that there will be a new injection of experience and enthusiasm in the group, which will be great," he said.

There has also been talk of changes in the playing staff at Inter this summer.

"[Diego] Milito decided to stay, and I am very happy, because he is a friend and an exceptional striker," Zanetti said. "[Maicon's future] is a problem at the moment, but I really do hope that he remains with us.

"[Davide Santon] had some physical problems last year, but now he is ready to play with a great team like Inter. [Francesco] Toldo? I am very sorry to see him retire. He was a great goalkeeper, and a good man, so he will be missed."

I doubt it will pay off MI, cause those 17-18 yo who already have a fat contract will want an even fatter contract in a couple of years time and many will be lost for free. But it could partially pay off since good player will always be sold for a bigger amount then when you buy them as youngsters. I doubt this will make Milan really competitive in the future..

Javier Mascherano's agent claims the Liverfekkin'wankscum midfielder would jump at the chance of a reunion with Rafael Benítez at Internazionale. The Argentina captain is reportedly one of the top transfer targets for Inter this summer. And Mascherano's agent Walter Tamer has done little to quell the speculation, telling Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport: "Mascherano has not spoken to [the new Liverfekkin'wankscum manager Roy] Hodgson nor with Liverfekkin'wankscum. After the World Cup, he has switched off but it's clear that he is happy to be a target of top clubs in the transfer market.

"Last season, it was the European champions Barcelona that wanted him and this year it's Inter, the current Champions League winners. For him to be linked to Inter has a magical taste ... it's a dream. Think about it – the strongest team in the world wants him, a team where many of Mascherano's compatriots play and a side that is guided by a coach with whom Mascherano has a personal bond."

Mascherano is under contract with Liverfekkin'wankscum until June 2012, which Tamer admitted is a potential stumbling block. "If it was up to Mascherano, the negotiations [with Inter] would be very easy," said Tamer. "But he has a contract with Liverfekkin'wankscum and first the two clubs would have to find an agreement before we step in."

Tamer claims 26-year-old Mascherano was the subject of an offer from Barça last summer. "Last year [former Liverfekkin'wankscum coach] Benítez turned down a lot of money offered by Barcelona for the player but this is a different market," Tamer said. "I have not been informed what Mascherano's buy-out clause is. I await a call as I am the only one authorised to speak of his eventual transfer."

The thing I don't understand is are we selling Balo/Maicon to reduce debt or are we selling in order to the spend the exact same amount on a different player? Cause if we're just going to reinvest it, why sell one of the best talents to get another midfielder?

As for the season coming, if Biabiany scores around 10 goals and becomes a valued substitute, he's essentially done more than Balo has been able to do last season and minus all the crap he and Raiola manage to bring up every single week and he becomes arguably better for us in the short term. But if Balo becomes the best player in the world..

If we end up selling Balotelli, I think it will be more because of the piece of shit called Raiola than anything else.

I said this a few pages ago. It looks like we are trying to get the same amount that we wanted from Maicon if not more from Balotelli just to cover. TBH I think, we should keep Balo. He probably is if not definitely is Italy's brightest talent and may be the best player in the world (may). I don't see why we don't settle for 29mil or whatever it was for Maicon, he ain't going to be anywhere near that value come the end of this season.

Maicon cannot be sold for anything less than 30M. He is the best RB in the world and he can change the outcome of a game singlehandedly, even though he isnt a striker. Real Madrid apparently only offered something around 25M. So I'd rather keep him there than sell him for cheap. This is also a domino effect...you sell a superstar for cheap, and the other clubs will come with cheap offers for others... We set a standard and that's it. I like that.
Balo willmove as long as someone can put a 35-40M offer. If that arrives, Balo will be gone, certainly.
