Cavani is too expensive though. palermo want something around 20M and he's definately not worth that amount. For that amount, I'd opt for a player who is capable of playing in more roles than Cavani.

'I will become Inter's Rooney'

Palermo striker Edinson Cavani has promised to become Inter's Wayne Rooney if they sign him this summer.

The 23-year-old Uruguay international is up for sale after requesting a move from the Renzo Barbera.

Palermo have received several offers, the biggest coming from German side Wolfsburg.

Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cavani made no secret of his desire to join Inter.

“It would be wonderful to stay in Italy and fight for both the Scudetto and Champions League.

“I would like to once again thank Maurizio Zamparini. He has been like a father to me, but remember that our President is also a very capable businessman. From my sale and hopefully that of Simon Kjaer, he will receive a lot of money. So it would also make a good present for him.

“As a young boy I was crazy for Ruud Van Nistelrooy, a killer inside the penalty area. I adore those players who hurl the ball into the net.

“I am a centre-forward who also knows how to adapt himself to the role of playing outside forward. Let's put it this way: I would like to become Inter's Wayne Rooney, a striker who knows how to perform many roles.â€

Svincolatosi dalla Lazio, il giovane difensore centrale classe 1991 aveva richieste da mezza Europa e il pressing dei club di Premiershit (con in testa il Chelsea e il Manchester United) era insistente. Ma Faraoni ha scelto l'Inter. Per due motivi: perchè la Primavera nerazzurra ha una visibilità elevata in campo nazionale ed internazionale, ma soprattutto perchè l'Inter lavora bene con i giovani ed ha un settore giovanile tra i migliori in assoluto. Tutto definito, dunque, anche la durata contrattuale: quattro anni di contratto e maglia nerazzurra appiccicata addosso. Inter target Rafinha

Inter are already thinking about after Maicon and have been scouting Schalke's Brazilian right-back Rafinha, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Maicon looks almost certain to join Real Madrid this summer and negotiations have already reportedly begun between the two clubs with a view to a €28m transfer.

Il Corriere understands that Inter have made an inquiry about Rafinha, but Schalke aren't willing to give him up without a fight.

The German giants are in the Champions League next year and don't want to lose their best players ahead of such an important campaign.

The 24-year-old's agent Naor Malaquias believes his client is worth €5m, but Schalke are reportedly looking for double that figure.

However, Schalke may be inclined to cash in on Rafinha while they can as his contract is due to expire this time next season.

Mascherano dumped for Melo

Inter are assessing a bid for Felipe Melo of Juventus rather than Liverpool’s Javier Mascherano, President Massimo Moratti has revealed.

The Nerazzurri were being hotly linked with the Argentine and initial discussions had begun with his entourage.

However, the Italian champions have been put off by his asking price – thought to be around €30m – and are looking at Brazil hardman Melo instead.

Le parole del presidente Massimo Moratti, stamattina, hanno risvegliato i tifosi dell'Inter con una novità importante. Il numero uno nerazzurro ha leggermente allontanato Javier Mascherano, portando avanti un'idea "intrigante", quella di Felipe Melo. Il centrocampista del Brasile, in realtà, sembra essere soltanto un'idea molto remota per la società campione d'Europa: il giocatore costa parecchio, sui 17-19 milioni, e la Juventus non sembra intenzionata a cedere un suo giocatore ad una diretta concorrente come l'Inter dopo le disfatte Patrick Vieira e Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In più, il costo proibitivo spingerebbe l'Inter verso altri obiettivi di prima fascia, richiesti esplicitamente da Rafa Benitez: a 20 milioni per Mascherano si può provare a chiudere. Per questo motivo, ma anche per diversi altri, resta assolutamente l'argentino del Liverfekkin'wankscum il primo obiettivo per la campagna acquisti nerazzurra. Parole di depistaggio quelle di Moratti, che punta a far scendere le pretese del Liverfekkin'wankscum arrivando a quei 20 milioni magari con l'inserimento di Muntari nella trattativa che potrebbe permettere di sbloccarla e di regalare a Benitez un giocatore che il tecnico spagnolo ritiene indispensabile e per il quale si sta lavorando con il Liverfekkin'wankscum e con i suoi agenti già da diverso tempo, e si continuerà a farlo.

Detto ciò, resiste un'altra pista, secondo Sky Sport, per l'esterno che l'Inter potrebbe cercare. E' quella che porta a Milos Krasic, latelare del CSKA nel mirino della Juventus. La situazione, spiegata dall'esperto di mercato Gianluca di Marzio, è questa: "La Juventus è divisa da pochi milioni con i russi, ed il giocatore rifiuta qualsiasi destinazione che non sia quella bianconera almeno finchè la società torinese non si tirerà indietro ufficialmente. Però, dico di fare attenzione all'Inter, a cui già piaceva il giocatore in precedenza e che si era tolta dall'affare per un gentlemen agreement con la Juventus: nel caso in cui Krasic non interessasse più alla Juve, i nerazzurri potrebbero puntari. A Branca e Benitez piace molto, e nel modulo dello spagnolo calzerebbe a pennello". Occhio quindi a quest'altra alternativa che potrebbe tornare calda, ma che al momento resta nel congelatore nerazzurro.
