Juve could miss out on Bonucci

Juventus risk missing out on Leonardo Bonucci as Inter are ready to compete for the Italy international's signature, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Bonucci is co-owned by Genoa and Bari who is being valued at around €15m.

Inter President Massimo Moratti had lunch with his counterpart at Genoa Enrico Preziosi yesterday to discuss football matters.

The Nerazzurri have apparently already done a deal with Genoa for Andrea Ranocchia, who spent last season playing alongside Bonucci at Bari.

However, Inter are now focusing on bringing Bonucci back, which is an incredible volte-face as they only sold him to Genoa and Bari last summer.

Juventus reportedly already have a deal in principle with Genoa to buy their share of Bonucci's contract.

The Bianconeri have agreed to let Domenico Criscito move to Marassi on a permanent basis and have renewed Raffaele Palladino's co-ownership deal, so if Genoa pull out it will be costly for them.

However, such is Preziosi's relationship with Moratti that it wouldn't be a complete surprise if they came to some sort of arrangement.

We own half his contract, and legally we can buy the other half an bring him to Juve. What is he going to do? Refuse to play, and commit career suicide??? Taking a chance on Cassano, bringing in Pazzini are impressive, but I don't think Marotta is experienced enough to deal with the politics involved with handling Juve's transfers.

Italy’s World Cup star Domenico Criscito could go to a blind auction, as Genoa and Juventus cannot reach a deal.
The defender is co-owned by the two clubs and has spent the last two seasons at Marassi.

Where does it say we are looking at Cassano and Pazzini?

Up to this point, this transfer season has been a disaster. We are getting father away from Italian talent, and closer to becomming a mid-table team. The lure of Juventus will only last so long before talents starts to say "Juventus isn't great enough".

This is a BIG market this season. We need to fix some major holes.
Cassano is the best choice for us because he will make the most impact for the lowest price, but I doubt we will get him. Fabiano is going to Milan so we will get some flop striker now.
It is looking more and more like we will lose Criscito and Bonucci.

With names like Mascherano, Ribery, and Benzema on the market, we are failing hard.

Juve bid €18m for Bastos

Juventus are reportedly ready to splash out €18m for Lyon’s Brazilian wide man Michel Bastos.
The Bianconeri have already decided to drop Fabio Grosso (pictured) following a disappointing campaign.

It is rumoured in ‘France Football’ that his replacement could also come via Olympique Lyonnais.

Bastos is currently starring for Brazil at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and has been valued at around €18m.

For the Selecao he plays as a left-back, but at Lyon he tends to work as an attacking winger.

‘France Football’ claim Juve will try to reduce the price-tag by offering David Trezeguet as part of the deal.

However, the striker is resisting all proposals to leave Turin.

Looks like Bonucci-to-Juve is a done deal. Bonucci arrives, Genoa fully own Criscito, Palladino continues to be co-owned, but will play for Genoa next season.

Am I brilliant or what?? Despite Criscito's good season, he's not the future of Italy. Cannavaro and Nesta had the honor of being tutored by Maldini. I feel like that torch hasn't been passed down. I can't say I'm exactly sold on Chiellini either.

At least we got Bonucci. I still can't beleive we didn't bring Criscito and Bonucci in. It is pretty sad to see us getting pushed around on the market by Genoa. I have a horrible feeling like the Juventus as we used to know it, is finished.

While losing Criscito is not ideal, I can't say I'm unduly concerned.

Criscito is a decent player, but he is hardly a world beater. He still looks lightweight and gets shoved around too much for my liking.

So long as Juve sign a good left back, I'll be okay with this move.

I wouldn't put too much weight his WC performance when assessing his potential. He is still a bit lightweight, but not too small to play as an LB. He is not a world beater, but he has a nice skill set that can see him having a long career at Juventus as a starter or a squad player. Bonucci has played one season, is not as good as Ranocchia and is too similar to Chiellini to be worth Criscito and half of Palladino. Despite his injuries, I would rather have Ranocchia who is much more level headed and a better counter-part for Chiellini.
