What, Stefano, I simply have an appreciation and fondness for the genius of Mirko, please don't put me in the same category as Maro and his homoerotic feelings toward Perrotta. Vucinic was the LitM, and this season his destiny has been fulfilled, and he is now a romanisti legend. Forza forza grande Mirko...
Carlo, I think, rightly or wrongly, we tend to consider Samuel (and Emerdason) as sales from another epoch - presumably because they happened when Franco was in charge rather than his daughter (and, of course, because they preceded the Spags era). Emerdason's a different case because of the way he conducted himself - like an utter prat. We don't tend to talk about Samuel, then, because his sale isn't part of the anti-Rosella bleating and because most of us already know pretty much what we all think of him - he was one of my favourite players when with us and his sale really hurt because he was such a central piece of that Roma side I'd grown to love. Of course we got good money for him and he left with a heavy heart - saying all the right things and accepting a move out of Italy. I had hoped that Chivu-Samuel would have been the spine of the side for years to come (as I'd hoped with Chivu-Mexes in turn). If you read Italiamia's comments carefully, you'll see that two or three times a year he makes some tiny comment on how good Samuel still is for Inter; I know that he and I have always valued him very, very highly and I think that goes for most of the rest of the boys.
Tubbyboy fAtdriano is going to train with Flamengo for a while so he can lose some pounds (from his left toe) and be in decent shape (for a fat man) for the beginning of pre-season training with Roma. Personally I think he should be made to live in a steam-room until that point, but good stuff nonetheless.
Manchester City are chasing Inter Milan defender Nicolas Burdisso, according to the player's agent. Burdisso's future at Inter looks uncertain with the Argentina international spending the whole of last season on loan at Serie A rivals Roma.
Roma are understood to be keen on making the move permanent, but they could face competition from City with the big-spending Premiershit side ready to enter the race for his signature.
Burdisso's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, admits Inter could price the defender out of a move to Roma and that the Italian champions had informed him of City's interest.
Hidalgo told Sky Italia: "Burdisso? Roma and Inter will meet on Monday, the price fixed by Inter is very high and if there isn't agreement the player will return to Milan.
"But I don't know if there is place for him in Inter Milan. He wants to stay in Roma. "Manchester City? The Nerazzurri have told me of the interest of the British club, I didn't know it".
Lomba, there have been a few reports suggesting that today's meeting is a crunch one. Over the years, though, there have been a number of such crunch meetings which have always ended with deferral of some kind or another, so I don't think too many of us are holding our breath. There is some sense in all the reports over the past few weeks that the net really is closing in on Sensi, but I,for one, am waiting for the time when something has happened rather than this sequence of times when the decisive moment is always just around the corner.
I know Angelini backed out (and I also seen he may not be in quite a comfortable financial position as you might expect), but what are the chances that he, as a consequence of these latest developments, may come back into the picture and once again declare his interest in Roma?
Well, presuming la Sensi continues as our club's owner, let's hope she finds a way to keep Burdisso with us because she hasn't got the €8mil (or is it 9?) that Inter is demanding for him.
The enthusiasm I initially felt over Adriano is slipping. All very impressive talk from him recently and let's all just hope it's not a case of his now being in the perfect place to continue as he likes, that's to say at his own pace, while being out from under our club's every day influence!
Quite apart from resolving his fitness aspect, I'd have though being away from Brasil would be the best thing for him, given his present relationship with his former companions.
We can't even afford to buy Burdisso now. I can see him slipping away too. And this meeting Rosy and her band of idiots have with Unicredit (which is underway now, I believe) is only going to further damage our mercato (such as it is), as its likely to draw out for some time and so Rosy will keep the checkbook stuffed well up her stale and stagnant youknowwhatzit.
Goal.com are reporting that Mexes has turned down an new contract offer from Roma. but I think thats right, just more lazy journalism from them, as I don't believe Roma have offered him a new contract. are sayin that an agreement is unlikely to be reached, based on an article from the Corriere dello Sport. I certainly can't imagine Philippe himself griping over a pay increase or anything like that, so I'd say this is Rosella's tried and trusted tactic of trying to complicate any potential renewal so she won't look as bad if and when he leaves.
Ed, what's not helping is that fuckin' pest Mancini waving the Man City cheque book around like a man possessed. He seems intent on raiding Serie A for the answers to help keep himself in a job and I'm sure you'll have seen numerous other names quite apart from Burdisso as you posted above, all linked there.
Nico Burdisso himself has reputedly said he will not return to Inter so if we can't directly pay their asking price, a lot depends on Ranieri to continue insisting as he has done up to now that Burdisso is to be kept with us.
Yes, it's going to pull down our summer buying because more than was budgeted for from whatever money we get out of Mexes, Baptista, and whomever else we sell will now be spent on this one target, presuming of course la Sensi sees it that way.

Thredzo, you need to work on your Italian, I think. There have been loads of pieces on Mexes's being offered an extension over the past couple of weeks - and the reasons for the offer and for why he might reject it. The Burdisso story is completely boring - Inter are asking more than he's worth because they know we want him and we're offering less than he's worth because we know he wants us. We'll see what happens, but it's not a desperately interesting scenario.
