Gio, while I sympathise with you over your friend Luca, I've had the feeling for some time the only way available to him is with a lesser club.

The reasons are varied, and in view of the path now open to him, the available end product if you like, no longer of consequence in terms of discussion where Roma is concerned. The most important point is his days as a big star are gone, Giacomo is correct in that. He will serve Genoa. At that level he still has his worth.

Now as you say we are taking a chance on a headcase. The difference being that the "headcase" could still deliver the goods at our level and I realistically look for us to get some kind of productivity from two of his contracted three years. As I've already said, for all our sakes I hope I am right!
