Moratti hints at Benitez deal

Inter President Massimo Moratti has hinted that the appointment of Rafael Benitez as Jose Mourinho's replacement is very close.

Last week Benitez accepted to sever his contract with Liverfekkin'wankscum and since then he has bee strongly linked with a move to Italy.

This morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Benitez had a long conversation with Inter's chief technical director Marco Branca.

His lawyers are said to be in Milan today, ironing out a three-year contract with a €5m salary.

Doorstepped outside his offices, Moratti was asked if today could be decisive in negotiations with Benitez.

He replied: “Perhaps yes, but it's best to ask Branca.â€

Even though we've tightened our purse strings, the fact that we don't have to buy a lot of players could mean we splash out on 1-2 quality players and a back-up or two. He's not really going to win anything at Man City or Arsenal next season or even after that and it's not like he's a Milan legend. I'd spend up to 25mil for that position alone to ensure we have a player who can hit world class level in the not too distant future.

Seems like Benitez wanted to buy Silva while he was at Liverfekkin'wankscum. I would love to have him here. It would be great if we can get him for 25m. He can cover for Sneijder and can also play alongside him in the 4-2-3-1.
