So in essence, the Serie A is behind the 8ball here. It looks like it will eventually be a battle to stay competitive in the long term as well but like you, I can see the sympathetic side to Plantini's line of thinking. On the bright side, there will probably be a lot more investment in the youth systems, stadiums so it's not all doom and gloom. That would also mean the end of 94mil Ronaldo's and 75mil Zlatan's and I suppose we'll see a lot more player trades too.

About football losing its soul, that's pretty much across all sports imo. It won't change till most money is removed from it but I think there's more of a chance that the sports cease to exist than this happening any time soon.

Well at Inter, Rafa won't have any excuses. He's got the team that just won a treble, he'll have a huge youth system to work with with potential stars already in there, a transfer team that's never been stingy on money and an owner who doesn't interfere in the running of the team.
