"Mary, if the worst thing that happened in this game was play acting then I'd condemn both teams for it. But what I saw was way beyond play acting and this game in particular had something not quite right about it. Even before the first whistle, this game had some sort of ugly and dirty feeling to it that I'd never really felt in any sport tbh. I don't even mean that in a rivalry sort of way either - I didn't even feel this in Inter vs Juve the first time we met after they got relegated."

Cajun, I couldn't agree with this more - I felt sick watching that game from beginning to end. The atmosphere on the pitch was just horrible. I was ashamed of my team and of Italian football as a whole. At the end of the game I went over and watched the last 10 minutes of the Spurs-ManShitty game and the difference was astonishing. I'm not, of course, going to pretend that there's not plenty wrong with English football and that it's not capable of bad things too. On this night, though, the difference in footballing culture on show was entirely to the credit of the Premiershite and entirely to the discredit of Serie A.

Lazio plan Balotelli-Kolarov swap

Lazio are prepared to sell Aleksandar Kolarov to Inter in exchange for Mario Balotelli on loan, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

It's no secret that Kolarov is one of Inter's primary targets in the transfer market this summer.

The Nerazzurri tried to sign him in January, but couldn't reach an agreement with Lazio.

Yesterday Kolarov expressed his admiration for Mourinho and said that he would only stay at Lazio if they show some ambition.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito, perhaps chastened by the case of Goran Pandev, wants to cash in on Kolarov while he still can.

The Serbia international full-back has a contract until 2012 and hinted earlier this season that he doesn't intend to renew it.

La Gazzetta understands that Lotito will return to the negotiating table and ask Inter's technical director Marco Branca for Balotelli on loan.

Balotelli's future is uncertain at Inter after several arguments with Jose Mourinho, although it remains to be seen whether he leaves San Siro this summer.

Regna un grande ottimismo intorno alle condizioni di Wesley Sneijder. Il fantasista olandese è pronto ancora una volta a stupire tutti e ad essere in campo non solo in Champions League (mancano due settimane e per recuperare il tempo c'è tutto) ma addirittura già domenica contro il Chievo. Nonostante Mourinho avesse espresso, ieri sera a caldo dopo la Coppa Italia vinta sulla Roma, dubbi sul suo recupero ("Ho paura di non recuperarlo né per la trasferta di Siena né per quella di Madrid") e nonostante il calciatore avesse stretto i denti per esserci contro la Roma salvo poi uscire dopo cinque minuti per un brutto ematoma formatosi dopo uno scontro di gioco (forse era meglio preservarlo in vista del finale di stagione), sembra che anche stavolta Sneijder ce la farà. Le condizioni saranno valutate solo domani, alla ripresa degli allenamenti, ma negli ambienti interisti c'è ottimismo e si proverà a mandarlo in campo già domenica contro il Chievo.

Lo stesso giocatore ha mostrato ottimismo dopo la partita vinta all'Olimpico, una volta smaltita parte del dolore avvertito immediatamente dopo il contrasto con Burdisso. "Ho visto formarsi un ematoma e non sembrava una cosa da poco, ma sento che sto molto meglio. Non a caso riesco già a camminare e spero di poter giocare a breve", queste le sue parole ai cronisti del suo paese. Dichiarazioni che spazzano via le paure e inducono a sperare di ritrovare Wesley in campo già contro i clivensi, salvo un eccesso di precauzione dello staff medico e di Mourinho stesso.

D'altronde, chi conosce bene Sneijder è abituato ai suoi recuperi lampo, basta riascoltare le dichiarazioni di Maicon, una battuta lasciata ai cronisti in mix zone dopo Roma-Inter "Sneijder? Quello domani già si allena!" per comprendere le strordinarie doti di recupero di cui è dotato questo calciatore. Certo, questo rende difficile prevedere la sua presenza in campo o meno: ieri tutti davano il fantasista in panchina ma all'ultimo minuto Mourinho ha deciso di rischiarlo; altre volte si fa pretattica non svelando il suo reale stato di forma fino al rilascio della formazioni ufficiali. Vorrà dire che continueremo a godere delle piacevoli sorprese cui ormai ci stiamo abituando nel vederlo sempre, miracolosamente, al suo posto in campo.

Balo claims Totti racially abused him

Inter striker Mario Balotelli claims Francesco Totti racially abused him during Wednesday's Coppa Italia Final at the Stadio Olimpico.

Totti was sent off late in the game after he viciously kicked Balotelli from behind, sparking outrage across Italy.

Yesterday Totti claimed Balotelli apologised for his actions but added that Balotelli insulted him and the city of Rome.

Quoted in this morning's La Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli fought back, alleging that Totti used racist terms to insult him.

Balotelli's agent, Mino Raiola, then followed up the claims by saying: “Mario has sworn that he didn't offend anyone.

“He only admitted to having said: 'Stop kicking me, don't act like a child, we're playing football'. Nothing more.

“Then Totti did the rest. For me, whoever is racist is ignorant. For a premeditated gesture it would take a six-month suspension. In Brazil there are also arrests for racist acts.

“What should Juan now say to his captain? Totti must manage this ugly event with caution.

“Mario and I want to quickly turn the page. The fight against racism needs important contributions and it would be wonderful if Francesco were to do his part, hopefully with Roma's support. It would be the best way to close the incident.â€

Inter’s price for victory

Winning the treble could be a costly exercise for Inter given that each player has reportedly been promised a €600,000 win bonus.

The Italian champions lifted the Coppa Italia in midweek and are still in the hunt for the Scudetto and the Champions League.

They are two points clear of Roma in Serie A with two games left and will play Bayern Munich in the European Cup Final on May 22.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday, each squad member will get €600,000 if they clinch the Grand Slam.

The total figure has been split three ways – €100,000 for the Italian Cup, €200,000 for the Scudetto and €300,000 each for the Champions League trophy.
