A very ugly match but I think we deserved to win. Roma had a couple of good chances but other than that we restricted them very well.

I hope Sneijder's injury is not serious.

UEFA rules Ribery out of Champions League final

UEFA has refused Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery permission to play in the Champions League final.

UEFA rejected Ribery's appeal on Wednesday and insisted he serve a three-match ban imposed after he was sent off in the first leg of Bayern's semifinal victory over Lyon.

Ribery hoped to be reprieved with a one-match suspension - the standard for a red card - which he already served by missing the return match in France.

Bayern can appeal again to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

UEFA's disciplinary body had ordered the three-match sanction after judging Ribery guilty of serious foul play when he stepped on the ankle of Lyon forward Lisandro Lopez.

Bayern faces Inter Milan on May 22 in Madrid.

ROME - Wesley Sneijder's Tim Cup final lasted only five minutes after a challenge by Nicolas Burdisso forced Inter into an early substitution.

"I got a kick in my leg and some blood came out, but I feel better now," explained the Dutch midfielder. "But at least I can walk so we will see what happens."

Besiktas announce Inter Milan talks over Quaresma deal

Besiktas have launched a bid for Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma.

The Turkish giants have announced to the local Stock Exchange that they have entered negotiations with Inter to buy the Portugal international.

Besiktas coach Mustafa Denizli said: "But this statement does not mean the deal is already completed."
