Let's hope Philippe starts again this evening as all the reports seem to be suggesting - whether for Juan or Burdisso or Riise, with Burdisso at left back as was mooted earlier in the week. I'm looking forward to watching the boys play - if they play like they did in the first half against Samp it will be a pleasure to watch, whatever the result. It's a pity Claudio hasn't been tempted to try Max or one of Motta or Cassetti at left back to give Riise a bit of a breather - it would have been nice to have seen a bit more of Motta or Cornetto.

No Pizza, so with Brighi, Luca, and Philippe from the start - according to the latest reports. That will place a massive burden on Menez and DDR to construct play. I'd like to see Menez playing centrally, in behind Luca in the 4-2-3-1 or behind Luca-Vooch in a 4-3-1-2 in that case - we will need to get him on the ball in more of a play-making role.

No Brighi - Perrotta in a more withdrawn role - and Totti rather than Toni. I'm very pleased to see Taddei there - it means, surely, that Menez is going to play through the middle which you know is where I think he's best suited and where he can compensate better for the absence of Pizza. I wonder if we will line up with the 4-2-3-1 that is being anticipated - rather than a 4-3-1-2 (less likely) or something closer to a 4-1-4-1, with Simone and Menez just in front of DDR, back in that anchor role he hasn't played anywhere near so much since Spags left. Forza La Magica. Ci crediamo.
