James Horncastle's article would have made a more interesting read if it was written 9 months ago. It's always easy to look at things in retrospect and talk about how we could have done things differently. Most Juventini were happy when Ranieri were sacked, and for good reason. We would never have won a Scudetto with him. The fact that he might win the Scudetto with Roma does not change that. We took a risk with hiring Ferrara, and we failed. We are doing horribly under Zac too. But at that moment, it seemed like the best decision to sack Ranieri. Juventus did not let the right man go for the wrong reasons. We let the wrong man go, without replacing him with a better man. That's all.

That is the whole point of the article. It looked good at the time to incompetent fools who do not understand football. That is what Tardelli was saying. It is easy to look a things in retrospect but sacking Ranieri in favor of Ferrara had disaster written all over it.

Again, it's easy to say that NOW that Ranieri's doing so well, and Juventus isn't. The fans were not familiar with Ferrara's coaching abilities, but the fact that he worked with the Juventus youth system gave us a hope that he'd do well. Being optimistic about a former Juventus hero as coach cannot be seen as being "incompetent fools who do not understand football". You're just kicking a man when he's down.
