Report: Inter Reject Vasco Da Gama’s Bid To Extend Philippe Coutinho’s Loan
Mourinho wants the teen prodigy at his disposal for pre-season training.

Italian champions Inter have told Brazilian side Vasco da Gama they will have to release 17-year-old striker Philippe Coutinho during the Serie A close season, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

Inter signed Coutinho in the summer of 2008 but agreed to leave him on loan at Vasco for two more years as he will turn 18 next June.

But press reports had suggested last week that Vasco da Gama President, Roberto Dinamite, was hoping to keep hold of the hitman until the end of the Brazilian season in January 2011.

However, the pink paper claims that Inter technical director Marco Branca has had clear-the-air talks with his counterparts at Vasco during a recent trip to South America, insisting that the Nerazzurri expect them to honour the terms of their original agreement.

It is suggested that Inter boss Jose Mourinho does not want Coutinho to miss out on the team’s summer preparations for the new season as the Portuguese sees it as a key factor to speed up the youngster's settling-in period.

We've already got 3 starting quality strikers anyway so the sub doesn't have to be world class which is why I think Balo, for the right offer, is expendable now especially to use as bait for a WC player. I'll consider Mancini my favourite Inter manager of all time if he manages to convince the Arabs to give us 80 mil for Balo and Maicon over the summer.

This goes against anyone who thought that we could place Balotelli in a possible deal with Arsenal for fabregas....Did they really get Chamakh for free??

La cessione di Balotelli, anche se non al club di Londra, porterebbe nelle casse di Moratti proprio i soldi necessari per il catalano.
