Not me guys, I never gave winning the scudetto this season even a thought...I've seen all this before don't forget!

We have a heavy three game week ahead of us. Somehow even with a depleted squad for this Saturday I can see us squeeze a narrow victory out of the zebrettini. We should be near enough at full strength for our trasferta with Bologna but a lot depends on whether or not Ranieri decides to hold certain faces back for the Inter match which I can see him doing.

The galling part of playing a side like Inter is that even though they have the same league fixtures list as us, with their depth of squad they can rotate and still retain quality which we can't do...so I'm guessing il mister will keep his best selection for this game to try to combat any fatigue there may be over the last half hour or so.

btw, don't forget the lega calcio has re-scheduled this match from being the early game Saturday 27 to the 20:45 CET later spot!

Agent of Roma goalie Doni cools Bayern link

Rome, Italy (Sportsbooks) - The agent of Roma's Brazilian goalie Alexander Doni has played down rumors linking his client with a summer move to Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old has struggled for first-team action with the Serie A club this season and has been mentioned as a possible answer to make striker Luca Toni's stay in the Italian capital permanent.

However, agent Ovidio Colucci told Calciomercato.it: "I am not aware of this at the moment. We have not been contacted by Bayern, nor by other teams.

"The player will discuss his future with the club at the end of the season."

Hey Ed,
Two questions if you don't mind.

1 This new supporters ID card that the Lega Calcio is implementing next year, do you know if it will prevent foreigners (like myself) from purchasing tickets at the Olimpico. I am planning on going to a match in 3 years for my 40th birthday.

2 Do you know what compensation the team that wins the Scusetto gets from the league?

Your 40 in three years time...? You old fart I can't believe your so old. Ok ok i'm kidding. Maro is almost 40 too, and Giovanni must be twice that. Yeah this tessera del tifoso scheme is a load of horseshite and a completely nonsensical idea, which is why it is been introduced in Italy, I'd say. I'm not 100% sure, but I imagine those ID cards will only apply to locals, and foreigners like yourself or myself going to see a game should be able to buy a ticket the same as now: by using our passport. That is the way I see it working, anyway, otherwise there would be no foreigners or visitors able to go and enjoy a game, which makes no sense. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

No sure how much a team gets for winning the scudetto. I would guess around €15-20m?

Have you been to a match at the Olimpico yet? I'd love to go sooner but I want to wait till the little one is a little older and I'm being made redundant in June so I need some time to get funds in order. So my 40th seems logical. Maybe by then it will be in the Stadio Franco Sensi and we will be on our way to our third consecutive Scudetto under the stewardship of Il Presidente Angelini. A guy can dream can't he?

Thanks but what can you do. At least I'm getting a decent redundancy package. I myself haven't been to a match yet. The last time I was in Roma was July of 2001. Needless to say it was a good time to be a Romanista then.

We've been getting news filtering out of Trigoria since Wednesday morning that il mister has in mind to go with the tridente to try to compensate for the absentees. Late yesterday we got that he might favour il rombo and late this evening it's back to the tridente!

If, and I'm not convinced he will use the three up front then I imagine it will be more like I've mapped out below as an arrowhead because without Pizarro and De Rossi our midfield can't be too exposed to Di Natale and Floro Flores.




Note that I think Cassetti will be selected since Ranieri publicly blamed Motta's bad positioning for the loss of two goals against Livorno and I can see Baptista start with Ménez replacing him later. It's going to be some week, this week coming with three league games!

I'm now beyond the stage of caring how we get the points just as long as we get them!

I had some time on my hands today so I was parusing an Ultra website and found some old photos. Below is a picture where I can see myself along with my then hot hot girl friend Alessia Jacobelli. If you look to the far left of the picture at the railing at the bottom, we are directly behind the 2 men standing at the railing. I am behind the man with the dark shirt, with my head turned in the light tan shirt, sporting the Afro hairstyle that was internationally popular in the late 70's and early 80's. Shit, lots of hair was popular. Alessia is standing just behind the guy with the brown jacket, leaning and looking back at the Curva. My head is turned because some of the BOYS, my Ultra group, were getting on my ass for leaving our vantage point on the Curva Sud to meet the lovely and gracious Alessia. She did not come to match with me so she placed herself in that position because she knew she could get my attention. We are at the Roma-lazie match 12 March 1980. Two months before my family left Italy.
