Inter to double Balo's wages

Inter are ready to double Mario Balotelli’s wages to tie him to the club until 2015, decreed President Massimo Moratti.
The teenager grew up in their youth academy and is a favourite of the patron despite clashing repeatedly with Coach Jose Mourinho over his attitude.

It is reported in several newspapers this morning that Inter are ready to offer SuperMario a new contract extension on top of the deal currently locking him down until 2013.

There will be a huge increase in wages to 2.5m Euros per season plus bonuses, almost doubling his current haul.

Inter have another reason to be nervous of Balotelli’s future, as he could in theory invoke FIFA’s infamous Article 17.

It would allow players to buy themselves out of their contracts if they are three years into their deal and were younger than 28 when they put pen to paper.

Anyone who thought Milan and Roma had handed the title to Inter with their goalless draw will have to think again – at least for another week or two. It appeared the chasing duo had played right into Jose Mourinho’s hands by sharing the spoils in the Stadio Olimpico. The Nerazzurri, however, were not good enough to capitalise.

The fact that the reigning champions gathered their third goalless draw in their last four League outings may or may not be significant. At present it is a minor ailment but it could yet develop into a crippling affliction. Teams have learned how to stifle Inter. Or, if you flip it on its head, the boys in blue and black are struggling to impose themselves on a game.

That, in itself, is nothing new. The League leaders seem to enjoy being stung into action and often drift through matches where they are required to take the initiative. However, a few more lacklustre displays like the one against Genoa and they might yet throw away a title which seemed there for the taking.

There were mixed messages from the game in Rome. Milan emerged as the moral victors of the match but failed to come away with the three points they needed to bolster their title challenge. Nonetheless, they appeared more likely to trouble Inter than the Giallorossi.

Can we swap Balotelli for Jovetic?

Jovetic is a magnificent player, but I'll keep Balotelli. What do you guys have against the kid? Ok he is irrational at times but he is also a genius. And he has huge margins of improvement IMO.

Don't get me wrong. I like Balotelli. I'm just annoyed at his attitude I guess.

I have always loved those champions who had an attitude. I hate guys who have attitude and limited qualities to compensate but I have always particularly appreciated genius + attitude. I'm giving a few examples of players I loved - Maradona, Stoichkov, Romario, Gascoigne, Ibra, Materazzi, Vieri, Mourinho (ever since I've seen him leave his Porto team to celebrate the CL win alone). That' just to mention a few that came first to my head. Of course I also loved quiet players who were formidable champions too, like Zanetti or Roberto Baggio. So, maybe I am biased in this argument, but I would dread to see Balotelli become a Zanetti type of player. I love his attitude but I would just want him to improve his behaviour on the pitch when it comes to yellow/red cards.
Would you really want to see Mario not getting angry against a CR for simulating a foul like last year? Or Mario not silencing a booing crowd? I quite simply love that!
