How bout that whole home draw to Livorno, or that away draw to them too... or the 3-0 shocker at Siena. You know what, forget Siena, everyone has an off day. Oh wait, in what place did Livorno finish in '07-'08? Dead last? That second draw, where they equalized very very late, that's where the season was lost. I remember Ita and I were bitching about it. Inter may have gotten some calls, but we had a few go our way too. I would argue that sure Inter got plenty of calls, but it was nothing Calciopoli-esque.

Thanks Tomzo. Pity we got battered aside from that. Oh and the three tries they got. The French were excellent, you have give it to them, and at least now we can honestly say there's two genuine contenders from the northern hemisphere for next years WC.

aba, the fact is that poor officiating is part of the game and rubentus aside, it does not necessarily imply cheating. Until technology is implemented, we will continue to suffer from such calls and the obligatory bitching and moaning will ensue. There is no way favorable calls cost us the scudetto 2 years ago. We had enough control of our own destiny that season to win. The fact that we were praying for a relegated Parma to beat or draw Inter was bad enough; but we still ended up with a draw at Catania. I'm not sure, but did Catania draw even before Ibra scored the first goal for Inter in that pouring rain storm. I remember the broadcaster, after then end of the first half in Catania saying: "a questo momento, la Roma e`Campione d'Italia." Funny how you remember such things.

Nevertheless, we lost that scudetto because we failed against the piss poor teams. Inter ended up with 1 more win and 1 less defeat. The 2 Livorno draws, the home debacle against Napoli 4-4; Empoli-Roma 2-2; Torino-Roma 0-0; and the 3-0 defeat at Siena. These results cleary show that Roma alone was responsible for finishing second.

This is the game I'm talking about...I understand the age old argument about beating the minnows = winning titles, but this game was the killer IMO. We had Inter on the ropes and the ref. bailed them out with a hideous yellow to Mexes.
