Corvino hints at Fiorentina exit Friday 5 February, 2010

Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino has admitted he would consider a move to Roma.

Corvino is widely regarded as the best talent scout in Italy after signing the likes of Mirko Vucinic and Stevan Jovetic.

Roma have tried to hire him in the past, but without success, however, Corvino has said on more than one occasion that the prospect certainly interests him.

Prandelli wanted by trio Friday 5 February, 2010

Fiorentina will start contract talks with Cesare Prandelli this month amidst interest from the Italian national side, Juventus and Liverfekkin'wankscum.

The talented tactician is one of the most highly rated in the peninsula which has made him a wanted man.

Already considered as the Italian Football Federation's favourite candidate to replace Marcello Lippi after the World Cup, he’s now being paired with two European giants.

Juventus are today being associated with a man who represented the club as a player given that they will need a new Coach in the summer.

Ciro Ferrara was sacked last week and Alberto Zaccheroni has only been brought in for the next four months.

The Old Lady though are reportedly keen on Liverfekkin'wankscum boss Rafael Benitez for next season.

Should the Spaniard leave Anfield, for Turin or Real Madrid, then it is understood that Prandelli would then become a Kop option.

Fiorentina have attempted to downplay the rumours of Prandelli’s future by insisting they have no intention of letting him go.

Should they fail in their attempt to get the former Atalanta and Parma boss to remain then they could look to Sardinia for his replacement.

Cagliari boss Massimiliano Allegri, who won the Golden Bench award recently, has been mentioned as a possible successor to Prandelli in Florence.

Jovetic is committed to the Viola - Friday 12 February, 2010

Stevan Jovetic has never once thought about leaving Fiorentina, according to his agent Fali Ramadani.

The 20-year-old Montenegro international who can play in a variety of positions is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe.

His performances in the Champions League this season have attracted interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, Ramadani said: “I don't reckon that Stevan has ever thought about leaving Fiorentina.

“He feels very good in Florence and is happy, so I don't see why he should be thinking about leaving,” Ramadani concluded.

Jovetic's responsibility in the team has increased after Adrian Mutu received a suspension for failing two anti-doping tests.

The former Partizan youngster has scored seven goals in 18 appearances for Fiorentina this season.

Fiorentina Coach Cesare Prandelli: We Must Get A Positive Result Against Bayern Munich

The Viola boss knows that a positive result in Germany means that the team can win in Florence...

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli knows that his team face a tough task ahead of their Champions League first-leg, round-of-16 clash against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

The tactician wants his players to get a positive result in order to have it all to play for at home, so that they can progress to the next stage of the tournament.

"It will be a very difficult match for us, but we are proud to have gotten his far in the tournament," Prandelli revealed to Corriere Dello Sport. "I have already told my players to forget what they have done up until now, and give it their all.

"We must focus on Bayern, knowing that we want to leave the stadium with the possibility of playing to progress in Florence.

"The team must rediscover the right spirit, and play like we did a few months ago," he concluded.

Fiorentina maintain Taddei interest Wednesday 17 February, 2010

Fiorentina are still monitoring Rodrigo Taddei's contract situation very closely and hope to lure him away from Roma in the summer.

The 29-year-old Brazilian is in sparkling form at the moment, helping the Giallorossi extend their unbeaten run to 20 matches in all competitions.

Taddei's existing deal expires in June 2010, but he has already expressed his desire to stay and even finish his career in the capital.

However, Fiorentina are still said to be confident that they can exploit Roma's poor financial situation and make Taddei a better offer.

According to La Nazione, the Viola are prepared to make a straight swap with Mario Santana moving the other way.

Fiorentina would also apparently pay the difference in value between the two players.

Franco Zeffirelli: ‘Serpent’ Michel Platini Has It in For Fiorentina
The UEFA chief can’t stand the Viola colours, says Zeffirelli.

Italian film director Franco Zeffirelli has launched a stinging attack on UEFA President Michel Platini in the wake of Fiorentina’s controversial 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.

The Serie A side were left fuming on Wednesday night following a series of poor decisions by referee Tom Henning Ovrebo and his assistants.

Gigliati wing-back Massimo Gobbi was harshly shown a straight red card during the Allianz Arena clash, while Bayern striker Miroslav Klose got away with a yellow after a reckless tackle.

And Klose was then allowed to head home from a clear offside position late on to give the Bavarians a precious edge in the tie.

Ovrebo admitted yesterday he should have ruled out the goal, but Zeffirelli, who is a renowned fan of the Tuscan side, points the finger at Platini.

“The true serpent is Platini,” he told quotidiano.net.

“He has it in for the Viola. It’s so evident that he tries to damage them any time he gets a chance.

“I can’t remember any game of similar importance officiated in such a shameless way so much so that I have to wonder what Fiorentina have done wrong to deserve all this…”

From a Romanista's point of view, such a shame La Viola couldn't at least hold Milan to a draw last night.

Two absolutely unnecessary goals to concede! With the first, Ronaldinho should have never been allowed to steal possession of the ball to make the assist for Huntelaar. A schoolboy error! Don't get fancy in your own penalty box. Clear your lines! With the second, "hell mend you" if you are going to give Pato five clear yards of space. He will punish whoever is stupid enough to give him that kind of chance and quite right too!
