Domenech hails Vieira switch Wednesday 10 February, 2010

France boss Raymond Domenech has praised Patrick Vieira’s decision to leave Inter during the transfer window.

The midfielder quit Serie A last month after being enticed by the lure of Manchester City by former club boss Roberto Mancini.

Vieira was desperate for regular first team football and Domenech has admitted that the player is now firmly in his World Cup plans.

"He needed to play again, it didn't really matter where, but now it's a bonus that [b]he finds himself again at a very good club,â€

Oriali: Hamsik interests Inter - Thursday 11 February, 2010

Inter director Lele Oriali has admitted that Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik could be a good addition to the Nerazzurri squad.

The Slovak ace has been linked to the Serpenti recently and apparently has received the thumbs up from Jose Mourinho as well.

“Hamsik is a good player, and he could be useful for us,” admitted Oriali.

“He wouldn't be good just for us but for every top club. He is a talented youngster but there is no negotiations yet.”

Inter are set to face Napoli at the weekend and Oriali commented on the game.

“It will be a very difficult clash because Walter Mazzarri's team is in really good form.

“It's good that Marcelo Zalayeta left because he used to score against us all the time. He made us lose twice at the San Paolo and also scored with Bologna this season. It's lucky for us that the Vesuviani can't get him in on loan for the game!”

Deki sure of Kolarov signing

Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic is confident his compatriot Aleksandar Kolarov will join the reigning Italian champions this summer.

The Nerazzurri were in talks to sign the Serbia international last month but couldn't agree a price with Lazio President Claudio Lotito.

They are expected to return for Kolarov in the summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his team at the left-back position.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Stankovic said: “Right now the January transfer window is closed.

“We will see if Kolarov can be one of us in June. But I know that the only thing separating Aleksandar from Inter is a signature.â€

If Napoli don't qualify for the CL, Hamsik may try and force his sale. A player of his quality must be playing in Europe every season. So lets hope Napoli don't finish fourth.

We would need just 2 or at the max three signings next season. But we need to spend big on them as they have to be top notch signings. Hamsik, Kolorav and a young central defender (assuming we don't sell Maicon).

I don't want to keep Maicon when we could get 40 mil for him and we have a player just as capable on the bench in Santon. Kolarov/Chivu at LB and Santon/Zanetti at RB is fine with me. Add the money we'll get from selling Obinna, Mancini (half), Quaresma, Burdisso*, Jimenez etc and we'll have made about 55 mil all up just from sales. Ranocchia/Bonucci, Coutinho, Hamsik and Kolarov in and we have a team that is finally capable of reaching the CL final.

*Keeping in mind Roma's final payment for Burdisso which will probably be made in about 2075.

How do you boys think we're looking for the Napoli game? We've lost there the last two times 1 - 0 so it's a bogey team for us but at least Sneijder is back. They're in top form atm and tbh, I don't think we'll be leaving there with all 3 points.
