Vucinic Hopes To Be New Montella
The Montenegro striker hopes to emulate the 'Aeroplanino's' success at Roma now that he inherited the number 9 shirt from the newly acquired Sampdoria player. Mirko Vucinic is not afraid of the competition at Trigoria and is looking forward to a new season without the injury problems he suffered last season, which hindered his performances and chances in the Roma squad.
In particular, the former Lecce player hopes to have a career like Vincenzo Montella's who just passed to Sampdoria after a successful experience with the Giallorossi.
"I hope to succeed," admitted Vucinic, "Because Vincenzo is an important player, we all know that and I hope to be the new Montella. "I still haven't given what I could, I hope to do better this year. Last year I had two injuries, now however I started out well to train straight away. It's been three seasons that I couldn't do so."
As a personal target for his season, Vucinic admitted that he would like to score 10-15 goals, to help Roma reach important objectives
I've been meaning to comment on his interview with Il Romanista. There's more to it than this little snippet, and of course the man himself was being extremely modest and humble when he said he would like to score only 10-15 goals this season, but I predict big things for Vucinic this season. Yep, you know it sisters. This is going to be a massive season for Mirko, but when I was talking to him on the phone the other day he said he was really confident going into the season and can't wait to get stuck in. Everyone knows he has the potential talent and ability to be a really top-class striker, and even those who were doubting him last term know he can deliver for us. He has a full season at Roma behind him, a full pre-season to prepare injury-free, the full confidence and backing of Spalletti, and the assurance of knowing that his future is here in Roma. He may not be in the starting 11 come the first game of the season due to a certain European top-scorer – and although Spalletti mentioned he still believes he can play out on the left if needed – but hopefully he will get a chance to show what he can do as prima-punta and perhaps even force Spalletti to reconsider his tactics and find away to accommodate himself and Totti as a two-man forward line. He fully deserves to inherit Montella's number nine jersey, and can be seen as the true successor to Il Aeroplaino, and this season can be his season and prove, once and for all, that he is a true Roma Legend in the Making.

€10m + Cruz? No. I'm never really been a fan of The Gardener. Beside's, would we really need him with Totti > Vucinic, plus perhaps Nonda, if he stays? Actually, is Nonda going to be sold, does anyone think, or is he back training with us?
As with Chivu, well, it looks no closer to being resolved one way or another and it looks like he will stay and see out his contract. However, like some here, I feel some hope still remains, and would like to think there is still a chance he could sign. The way I see it, Spalletti will play him even if he doesn't sign, but he will remain public enemy number one on the streets of Rome and that will lead to further problems, and possible dressing-room unrest.
Now, if he were to sign on with a new 2 or 3 year €2.5m-plus-bonuses deal – one that included a minimum-fee release-clause of our valuation of say €15m or €18m – he could stay, play, and then leave at the end of the season for that value. That way, it would at least go someway to appease all parties: he would be able to play with less animosity and hatred from the fans; he would feel less pressure and could look to perform to his best; and Rosella would still get a pay-check and cash in on him if he left. Of course, the problem with this is there is pride at stake, what pride is left anyway, and the question is if the parties involved would be willing to meet and negotiate and look to bash out such a deal. If everyone steps back and looks at the overall situation with a view to really resolving it, that seems like the reasonable path for all to take.
Otherwise, I can't see how Spalletti would choose to select and rely on Chivu when both know his contract is up and he's out of here next summer on a free or in possibly even January for a paltry fee, topped off with the tension and hostility from the fans. It just wouldn't work.

I dunno guys but we have a third striker. We bought him already his name is Keivan Zarineh. Hes a tall and powerful striker according to what I have read but he scores one goal in every like 6 matches in Serie C! I think hes our third striker after Totti and Vucinic.

About surviving those plane rides Maro, it all depends on the airline. If it's something like Singapore Airlines, you thank god that you're alive and pray that the flight lasts for a long time. Have you seen the women and those outfits? Plus the movies, games etc.. Ditto Emirates and Virgin Atlantic (minus the women of course).
If you're unlucky and with another carrier, there's a one word solution: Ambien. If you're unlucky, pull an all-nighter the day before and take some nyquil...
Sorry about not being on more Shield, I'm reading a fair bit but not posting because I'm currently in Dalian, China for the next few weeks and my dorm does not have internet (too cheap to pay for it), so I usually check Roma stuff in a net cafe...
Btw, you guys should see the obsession with computer games in China, like World of Warcraft and other things, its out of control...

Pocari, Bessie's a cute one, she goes out with my Canadian friend/classmate. She's definitely the type to go after young looking waiguoren, ahaha. My friend is getting a big scared though since Bessie's talking commitment and he's only in China for another year.
Nothing wrong with browsing around photos, everyone does it on facebook, that's the point of the whole thing, the ability to stalk your friends.

Oh so its my forum today is it. I'm all alone. I'm doin the best I can here folks, work with me huh. Geeez I'm bored. Can't wait to hit the pub. Hmmm pub.... Anyone else see that Birmingham City are signing our old friend Mido for £6m...? Thats €9m, €3m more than what we sold him to Spurs for (€6m). This perfectly highlights the over-spending by English clubs and the financial power they have. Here is a player who flopped at Spurs, was complete crap, and yet they stand to make a €3m profit on him. Good move there Steve Bruce.
So it seems that Inter are coming back in for Chivu. Does anyone else kinda hope that we don't sell him now? I don't know what sort of figures are involved in any proposed new bid from Inter, but I can't imagine they would up their offer to meet our asking price, and so instead of giving in to them and finally sell him and have closure on the saga, I would rather we told Moratti to go fuck himself and let Chivu stay. He stays and signs a new deal – as per my previous post on Chivu – or he stays and we lose him for free next summer. Its possible that we could potentially use the money from his sale to spend on some more new arrivals, but I wouldn't hold out for that either. As for our transfer market, does anyone think we are more or less done, or will we see more new arrivals? We still need a left-back, possibly Modesto is back on?

I actually would hope that we don't sell him. At least not this season. If we could get him to sign an extension with a good release clause then we can have him for this season and sell him next summer. I would love to see what this team could accomplish the way it is right now.
