Inter Milan full-back Amantino Mancini has switched to city rivals AC Milan on a six-month loan deal. The Serie A duo opened negotiations last week over a trade in personnel, with Milan full-back Marek Jankulovski a target for Inter.

Inter's Mancini eventually agreed a six-month loan deal with Leonardo's side, who have the option to buy half the Brazilian's playing rights at the end of the season. Jankulovski, meanwhile, was expected to head in the opposite direction as part of the deal but the Czech Republic international is still mulling over a switch.

The 32-year-old's hesitation failed to halt Mancini's loan move, and Inter boss Jose Mourinho is still thought to be keen on landing the player. Reports in the Italian media suggest Jankulovski will reject any further advances from table-toppers Inter as he is happy with the Rossoneri

I would like to take credit for predicting that Mancini would die at Inter. He's barely played much in a year in a half. He may still have something to offer but that remains to be seen. The fact that Inter loaned him to Milan is indicative of the belief that Mancini will do little to help out a direct rival. A club does not transfer or loan players to a rival tream or one that it perceives to be a threat to its title hopes.

maro[ Delete ] With us, he came, I think, to be looked on as a different kind of player from the one he really is - because he came to be technically our second-best forward and goal-scorer. But that's because the other forwards were Taddei and Perrotta and the like. I think he could do a job for you guys - he's a much better fit at Milan than he ever was at Inter. He'll never be a great individual player, though, but he could contribute if he gets fit and in-form.

In fact, it's why he was such a good player for us - he's not technically outstanding, despite appearances, and so at his best he contributed because he got up and down. He got a bit big for his boots in the end with us, but his work-rate was top-notch before his final two or three seasons with us.

maro[ Delete ] His natural foot is right, but Spags had him playing down the left for most of his best time with us. Wide right in Capello's 4-4-2 he was superb; wide left in the 4-2-3-1 and he also had some great matces.

maro[ Delete ] Well, you have nothing to lose from it. If he gets fit he'll give you pace, width, a few goals, and some nice technical quality. He's no Ronaldinho on the ball and no Pato, but he's better than your next in line to those two and much more naturally a wide player than either.

San Paolo[ Delete ] Galliani may be a shrewd buyer but he is not stupid when it comes to tactical moves, he knows what the plan is.

maro[ Delete ] I agree with Lomba and Cajun that he looks heavy - more across the chest than across the gut, which may be a reflection of the way he's been trained. Inter tend to privilege power over pace.

maro[ Delete ] I think he's an excellent alternative to Ronaldinho and Pato - better than any of the other options at the club. And when he gives a shit his work rate is pretty good.

One thing he does have is a piss poor attitude and can be a locker room distraction. When he was at Roma, his best friend was Cassano. Does that tell you anything?

AC MILAN FAILED WITH KEIRRISON BID

AC Milan coach Leonardo revealed his club tried to sign Barcelona striker Keirrison before being beaten to the punch by Fiorentina. The Brazilian forward joined the Viola on Monday on a two-year loan deal from the Primera Division giants.

"I am happy that Keirrison has arrived to Serie A," said Leonardo. "Not so much because he joins Fiorentina and my team could face him, but because I am strongly convinced of his potential.

"I know that Milan tried to sign him but I have no regrets. I have a strong team. "I'm just curious to see Keirrison play in Serie A."

The 21-year-old joined Barcelona last summer on a 14million euro deal from Palmeiras. He was loaned to Portuguese side Benfica earlier this season before making the switch to Florence.

Not sure if he is eligible for Champions League, I'd say he is, given that he's Mutu's replacement. I was a bit surprised Fiorentina got him but I think he will turn out to be a great signing for them. Its a two-year loan from Barca but I read they also have the option to buy him outright after that.
