Dossena linked with Atletico - Defender's agent confirms he is in talks with a Spanish club
Andrea Dossena is holding talks over a possible switch to Atletico Madrid, skysports.com understands.
The Liverfekkin'wankscum full-back has been the subject of constant speculation and seems certain to leave Anfield during the January transfer window.
Dossena has failed to live up to his £7million price tag since joining the Reds from Udinese 18 months ago and a return to his native Italy had been touted as the most likely scenario.
However, one of Dossena's agents, Federico Pastorello, has labelled a move to Serie A club Napoli as 'impossible'.
Pastorello admitted the Reds defender could move to Spain instead, with Atletico understood to be the club involved.
"A move to Napoli is impossible," he told TuttoNapoli.net. "The negotiations for a possible move for Dossena to Napoli are over.
"If I was to make a prediction I would say that Andrea will not return to Italy.
"We are in negotiations with several foreign clubs, with a very important Spanish club who are not in European competition - the deal is even at an advanced stage."
Atletico are currently 15th in La Liga and they have shipped 27 goals in just 15 league games so far this season.
The 28-year-old Italy international is keen to move away from Anfield as he looks to secure his place in the Azzurri squad for the 2010 World Cup.

Liverfekkin'wankscum defender Andrea Dossena is on the verge of of joining Napoli, according to the player's agent. Reds boss Rafa Benitez is prepared to offload Dossena as he looks to raise funds for his own signings in this month's transfer window.
Dossena has failed to live up to expectations since his arrival from Udinese in the summer of 2008. The 28-year-old has found himself a bit-part player at Anfield this season and he came close to a move away during the summer transfer window only for a move fail to materialise.
Napoli have held a long-term interest in Dossena and reports suggest a deal in the region €5million euros (£4.5million) has been agreed between both clubs for the full-back. Dossena's agent, Roberto La Florio, claims a deal could be sealed by Wednesday with the Italian international signing a four-and- a-half-year deal at the Naples outfit.

Andrea Dossena has revealed he is looking forward to joining Napoli as he waits to finalise his exit from Liverfekkin'wankscum.
The full-back is on the brink of bringing down the curtain on a disappointing 18-month spell at Anfield by securing a return to Serie A.
Dossena has started just 13 Premiershit games since moving to Liverfekkin'wankscum from Udinese in 2008 and he has made just five appearances in all competitions this season.
He is expected to sign a four-and-a-half year contract with Napoli and the 28-year-old is excited by his impending return to Italian football.
"I'm looking forward to embracing Napoli and to experience the emotion of the Stadio San Paolo," Dossena told Il Mattino.
"It's missing the official news of the move and so I can't say a lot, but I'm waiting.
"I thank Napoli and I'm happy to meet up with friends such as De Sanctis, Quagliarella and Maggio."
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiisconfirmed everything has been agreed for the move and he is now waiting for the paperwork to be signed.

Ezequiel Lavezzi's Napoli future seems locked up and safe for the next five years after reaching an argeement with the club over a bumper extension deal.
The Argentinean hitman, his agent Alejandro Mazzoni and club president Aurelio De Laurentiis have met in Buenos Aires where they held talks over the player's future, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.
A new five-year contract was centre stage as the three men talked business and objectives. De Laurentiis set the tone for Lavezzi in terms of what he expects in return for the trust he has shown with the new deal which contains a series of incentives.

Olympiakos have completed the loan signing of Napoli winger Jesus Datolo until the end of the season.
The Argentina international had made just six Serie A starts this term and asked to leave the club to boost his chances of gaining a World Cup squad place.
Datolo met up with his new team-mates in Greece on Sunday and will be managed by Brazil legend Zico, who took over Olympiakos in September.
Datolo was handed his international debut by current national boss Diego Maradona last year, and scored within 20 seconds of coming on as a substitute.

Fourth spot in the table and the sniff of Champions League football just six years after bankruptcy and reformation in the third tier has Naples dreaming of even greater glory.
A win in Saturday's home game with Genoa, a team with a similar recent history, would power Napoli up to joint second - for a day at least. However, coach Walter Mazzarri believes any thoughts of adding to their 1987 and 1990 championships must be put on the back burner for the next few seasons.
"What we do this year will serve as a base for next season," he told Radiouno. "If something extraordinary happens, we'll take it but we are not talking about precise objectives, we'll leave that to the big clubs."
The former Sampdoria coach, who has watched his former side plummet down the league having been early season-leaders, has propelled unbeaten Napoli in the opposite direction since taking over from the hapless Roberto Donadoni in early October. Mazzarri knows Napoli are a big club given the huge soccer passion of the population of Italy's third city, who even packed the San Paolo with 50,000 crowds in Serie C. Being bankrolled by film producer Aurelio De Laurentiis also helps.
They belong at the top table of Italian football and the recent woeful form of Juventus and Fiorentina has opened the door for a genuine tilt at Champions League qualification.
