Tommaso Rocchi’s Agent Refuses To Rule Out Lazio Exit

The representative has admitted he will discuss the striker’s future with the club.

After watching Goran Pandev walk away on a free transfer, Lazio fans are bracing themselves for the worst as star striker Tommaso Rocchi could also depart the Stadio Olimpico during the January transfer window.

The veteran hitman is reportedly on the radar of Fiorentina director of sport Pantaleo Corvino, while Luciano Spalletti and his former boss Delio Rossi would also want him at Zenit St Petersburg and Palermo respectively.

Agent - Gunners want Zarate; Argentine linked with English return

Mauro Zarate's agent claims Arsenal are interested in signing the Argentine star.

The Lazio striker has previously impressed in England with Birmingham, and he has continued his good form in Serie A.

Zarate joined Lazio in 2008, but he is now being linked with a move to Arsenal and his agent claims to have held talks.

"I am in contact with Arsenal," Jose Alberti is quoted by the Italian media.

"A couple of days ago a leader of the English club asked me about him.

"Arsenal wants to increase their attacking options and so already they are preparing an offer of €40million which they will deliver to Claudio Lotito [Lazio president]."

Alberti also claims that Manchester City tried to sign Zarate in the summer but Arsenal could now seal a deal for him.

"Their intention is to succeed where Manchester City failed in the past year - that is to take Zarate back to the Premiershit," he said.

"Maybe this time they will succeed and from what I know Mauro is tired of the situation at Lazio."

Zarate was recently criticised by Lazio coach Davide Ballardini and Alberti admits he is angry at the way his charge has been treated.

"I am still speechless about that," he said.

"It is absurd behaviour, Zarate is tired of this situation - having to play all but alone, because all around him he is finding less and less quality.

"Zarate is not happy."

Arsenal could now be ready to take advantage of Zarate's situation in Rome, with manager Arsene Wenger confirming he is likely to make a move for a striker this January.

Along with Zarate, Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain has also been linked in the past few days.

But unlike Zarate, he appears more than settled where he is.

"It would be nice to end my career here," said Higuain.

"Real Madrid and the city of Madrid is my second home. I would like fans to remember me as a great person, humble and hardworking."

Lazio Reach Agreement For Villarreal Midfielder Sebastian Eguren – Report

The deal is set to be announced in the coming hours…

As Lazio fans wait anxiously to see whether president Claudio Lotito will finally bring in some much needed reinforcements before the end of the transfer window, it seems the Biancocelesti may finally found some cover for their fragile midfield.

According to reports from Itasportpress, the Aquile have recently reached an agreement with Spanish outfit Villarreal for the services of 29-year-old Sebastian Eguren.

After having voiced his favour to the switch during the week, the Yellow Submarine are reported to have accepted an offer which will see the Uruguayan move to the capital city club on a six-month loan deal. The Formello outfit will also have the option to buy Eguren for a fixed price believed to be in the region of €5 million.

Whilst many were expecting the deal to be completed at the beginning of next week, it is now believed the move could be made official in the coming hours.

Golasa pulls out of Lazio deal Friday 5 February, 2010

Maccabi Haifa claim Eyal Golasa has pulled out of a move to Lazio because his advisors apparently deceived him.

The 18-year-old midfielder looked as if he had signed a four and a half year contract with Lazio and was even photographed wearing the club's shirt.

However, Il Corriere dello Sport understands that the Israel Under-21 international flew back to Tel Aviv last night and intends to stay there.

Maccabi Haifa have released a statement on their website, which reads: “Eyal has apologised and his apology has been accepted.

“The contract between us is in fact binding. Eyal has understood that his advisors deceived him and induced him to behave like he has done.â€
