Inter Midfielder Ricardo Quaresma Linked With Sporting CP

A swap loan deal could be on the horizon for Inter and Quaresma...

Inter midfielder Ricardo Quaresma will be offered the chance to flee the club and return to Portugal as Sporting CP take a look at him.

According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, the player's agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Jose Mourinho, has arrived in Milan with some interesting proposals.

The report claims Quaresma is wanted by Sporting, with dialogue already being opened by Mendes. After speaking with the Portuguese side, the agent is expected to offer the Nerazzurri midfielder a solution to remedy his lack of playing time.

The 26-year-old is eager for action ahead of the World Cup so he can secure a place in the Portugal squad. He has only played eight times in all competitions this term.

As part of the loan deal, Sporting will offer the services of Miguel Veloso in return.

However, finalising the swap could prove demanding as Fiorentina are also keen on Veloso.

This would be an amazing deal. First off, we get the loan of an already very high level midfielder in the exact position we need while getting rid of some more rubbish from the bench. Quaresma's value has dipped to probably 10 - 15 million and that's being generous which is probably what Velose would cost to outright buy him. I wouldn't mind a straight swap for keeps tbh.

Not looking good for Nesta

The latest reports from the Milanello training ground suggest Alessandro Nesta won’t be able to start the derby.

Nesta has been struggling with a left thigh problem that he sustained in last week’s 4-0 win over Siena.

Leonardo declared he would leave the decision until the last minute, but it’s reported that this morning’s run-out was not as pain-free as he would’ve hoped.

It looks increasingly likely that Nesta will not be in the line-up at San Siro this evening, so Giuseppe Favalli or Kakha Kaladze are set to take over.

This means that Thiago Silva is the only first-choice defender playing, as Gianluca Zambrotta and Massimo Oddo are also injured.
