Claudio Ranieri was impressed with Luca Toni and felt today's win was inspired by Roma's midweek slip-up.

On Wednesday they threw away a 2-0 lead in stoppages against Cagliari, but this afternoon held on to a 1-0 result over Chievo despite playing 79 minutes with 10 men.

Luca Toni was satisfied with his first Roma start and earned a standing ovation from the Stadio Olimpico crowd.

The striker played for 80 minutes in the 1-0 victory over Chievo and earned a penalty that David Pizarro had saved.

Totti to miss Juve clash

Francesco Totti will not recover from injury in time for Roma's clash with Juventus in two weeks time.
