'Juve are ruining Diego and Melo'

Brazil Coach Carlos Dunga believes Juventus are ruining Diego and Felipe Melo by playing them out of position and misunderstanding their characteristics. The Bianconeri signed the Brazilian pair in the summer for a combined fee of nearly €50m, raising expectation levels throughout Italy and Turin.

However, both players have flopped and are now the subject of regular criticism from the fans and the media, no more so than Melo. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dunga said: “I don't understand. I ask myself: do Juve understand Felipe's technical characteristics?

“He is not a classic playmaker. He has never mistaken a game for Brazil. Ferrara has to have faith in Felipe. He has to speak to him and explain what Juve is. There are few central midfielders as strong as Felipe in circulation around the world.â€

Is this a joke?? A Juve Revival, the headlines say?? This game was won but it felt like a loss. How can Ferrara go about thinking his job his safe?? This is the type of attitude that draws up a loss in the next game. Nobody was spectacular this game and the goals were a set piece and an OG. Far from being back or playing spectacular. I thought this Juve was coming together in that Samp win. Keep playing like that and your job is safe, Ciro.

We need to play like we played vs. Inter if we are going to beat Milan. They will not have Pato's speed. We need to win the midfield battle and for this reason I hope Sissoko can play. Melo and Sissoko can stop Milan.

Sissoko is at the African Nations Cup for the foreseeable future, so won't play, and Trezeguet is out for a month or so.

I'd go with a similar team and approach to the one that played Parma:

Melo is fine in the 4-2-3-1, keep him next to Poulsen in the middle. Marchisio is good on the wing, plus Giovinco is injured. The only problem with the 4-2-3-1 is the lack of wide options on the bench. This is why, if we stick with this formation, we should recall Lanzafame.

Bagg10 is right. Amauri has miles of field around him and doesn't make the run into the open space. Amauri is better off as a destroyer. The 4-2-3-1 worked decently in defense, but it still is not the right fit, especially when we don't have a proper striker as the 1. The Waterboy should have been used in a 4-3-1-2 formation... the same formation that led us to victory over Inter, and the same formation that we started out so strong with.

We need to fire Ciro. He has lost this team and his marbles. The first half of this season he seemed to have it all figured out. Then, the first sign of trouble and he crumbled. This cannot happen. If Diego is not performing, play Giovinco. If Melo is not performing play Poulsen or Sissoko. You don't play players just because you signed them. You play players based on performance... it is a reward and a priviledge to wear this jersey.

Juventus don't need wingers. It is stupid to seriously consider a 4-2-3-1 formation for the long term. We have the perfect pieces in place for the 4-3-1-2 and this needs to be the formation we run.

SELL:
Amauri - He isn't good enough for Juventus.
Zebina - He might be our best RB, but if we aren't going to use him, sell him.
Tiago - Make his loan permanent. He has never fit in here.

SIGN:
Caceres, Criscito, Ranocchia, D'Agostino, Striker (Fabiano, Benzema, Pazzini).

Moggi is 100% right about the organization of this club. These fools have been ruining this team each year by bringing in a bunch of average players. This was the first transfer season that I was pleased (despite the mistake of offloading Zanetti), but we are seeing the damage done by the previous 3-4 transfer seasons.

Instead of signing 1 or 2 world class players per window, we decided to overstock our team with a bunch of average foreign players who simply can't cut the mustard. Make no excuses, we had plenty of opportunities to sign world class players in each transfer season, but we opted to go with averageness. This team is still living off of the fruits of Moggi's labor. The players he brought to Turin are still the players that are producing for us and holding this team together now. Moggi needs to come back. We need these idiots out of here.

I watched a Juventus team with 4 Italians play like shit and lose to a team that had no business beating them. Milan is a team of fairies and we couldn't even push them around.

I am going to make my Juventus 2010-2011 roster as I would do it. And you can mock me all you want and then a year later I will once again get to explain why you are all stupid and why this team still can't get over the hump.

This is how you build a team... you have a system and you get players to fit the system. You have players who can be direct subs for other players, and a couple guys who can play multiple spots. It isn't that hard. It really isn't. Sissoko and Camoranesi can share time. Melo and Marchisio can share time. Poulsen comes on for D'Agostino to lock down a game. Diego and Giovinco can play together or sub for each other. The Waterboy comes in and plays at the left corner of the box with Pazzini or Trezeguet. Iaquinta plays in smaller matches and is used as a sub late in games. Ranocchia plays in smaller matches and is groomed by the great mentor Fabio Cannavaro. Legrottaglie is there to be a reliable plug in case we get some injury problems. Criscito shares time with Grosso and eventually takes over. What is so difficult to see?

This is a very realistic plan, a very affordable plan, but we will probably see our idiotic management do something off the wall and crazy instead! Oh the modern Juventus.

Then, after that season you start weeding out guys like Grygera and Brazzo. Get a solid young GK to learn from Gigi. See how Lanzafame is doing and maybe bring him back from loan to take some time away from The Waterboy.
