Sell Mario Balotelli to Arsenal for £20m? No, Antonio Labbate suggests Inter should send him packing back to the Primavera side instead
You can understand why Inter would be tempted to sell if today’s front page lead on La Gazzetta dello Sport turns out to be accurate. According to the pink bible, Arsenal are ready to end Mario Balotelli’s troubles at San Siro with a £20m offer.

It’s a potential move that would tick so many boxes. It would rid the Nerazzurri of a teen that even Jose Mourinho can’t tame, see them make a handsome profit on a youth team product and get Balotelli away from the odd imbecile in Italian crowds who taunt him from afar with cowardly racism.

Yet releasing Balotelli to the London club, or any other for that matter, would be nothing short of ludicrous for Inter, an own goal of colossal proportions for the outfit and Italian football in general. Inter have a duty to not dispose of the problem child, but to put him in a position to become the world beater that those at Appiano Gentile tell us he can be. But how?

It is quite clear that the boy has talent, but what he doesn’t have is discipline. Banished to the stands on Sunday for reasons which Mourinho didn’t want to elaborate on, his presence in the squad for the Juve tie is now in as much doubt as his future.

Dejan, if we send Quaresma to Sporting Lisbon, I would really like to have Moutinho. He is the guy I really ever wanted. Veloso would be nice, but Moutinho IMO gives our midfield a different dimension.
With regards to Balotelli...Am I the only one who thinks that what the kid does in his private life is only up to him alone? I mean, I've heard different versions of what he's done last week. There were reports that he had a long night on thursday, only to turn up late on friday's training session, but if that is so, why did Mou call him up for the Fiore match? Latest reports say that between training sessions on saturday, he wanted to make an appearance at some motor show. Mourinho asked him not to go and he reluctantly obeyed. Mou also called him home in the afternoon to make sure he was there, but he didnt reply to his calls. This infuriated Mourinho. I believe that Mou is being a little too harsh on the kid, and I beleive he will mature eventually on his own...with age, as any other teenager does. IMO, we should keep him where he is, let him mature normally and play him frequently. Eventually he'll turn up more mature, like Ibra & Rooney did. Selling him is of course out of the question. I'm sure he'll be here more than Mou will...

I'd take Veloso first but I wouldn't be complaining on either. A ball playing DM is what we need first and foremost imo.

About Balo, It's not only his private life that's the problem here though. For exactly 1 1/2 years, Mou's been saying Balotelli barely listens to him, doesn't even train properly and just refuses to do what is asked of him. Mou is one of the best man managers in the world and yet after so long, he still can't even get a kid to train the way he wants him too and that's what is frustrating the crap out of Mou. He's stated before that he pushes Balo because he believes that just becoming a good player isn't enough for him but rather, he wants him to become a champion. So essentially, Mou is doing everything he can for him to reach his potential and Balo replies with half-ass attempts at training and then showing up late in what is most crucial week of the season.

All the other stuff like yellow cards, showboating and attitude, I couldn't care less about. That's youth for you and he will grow out of it. But he's nobody special to be disregarding managers' orders. Even that shit with Eto'o when he tried to take the penalty even though Eto'o was the designated takes as Milito was out; you never hear of Pato doing this.

tbh I don't care if we lose this weekend. Just as long as we rest the key players for the Rubin match. So what if Juve get three points closer, we will still win the scudetto this season. Without a doubt.

Agree that the Rubin game is the real game but if we can keep the lead at 8 points or even increase it to 11, then we could knock them out of the title race leaving only Milan. The only thing we shouldn't risk is Sneijder as he is our major hope for Rubin. I'm now convinced this is the line-up: Cesar; Zanetti, Samuel, Lucio, Chivu; Cambiasso; Muntari, Motta; Stankovic; Eto'o, Milito. There's no chance in hell Balo will start imo but if Eto'o and Milito are going to miss chances like the Fio game, we're going to lose point blank.

Even now, I'm not holding out too much hope for a positive result in this game. It just somehow doesn't feel realistic that we'll be 11 points ahead of them so early in the season. But I'll definitely take a loss here if it means we qualify for the CL on Wed.
