Mohamed Sissoko has called for action against racist fans at Juventus Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has called for action against the club's fans after yet more racist chanting. The Mali star reacted after the Juve crowd sang abusive songs at the club's Champions League defeat by Bordeaux.

Juventus were forced to play one match behind closed doors last season because of racist chanting aimed at Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli. "Juventus have taken all the necessary steps - now the institutions must intervene," Sissoko told Italian radio.

The club have just been fined by the Italian league after supporters chanted "jump up and down and Balotelli will die" at Sunday's 1-0 home win over Udinese.

"We as players have repeated our position against racism at every opportunity," Sissoko said.
European football's governing body UEFA could investigate the chants in Bordeaux but because they happened before the game started they might not be included in the referee's report.

That would reduce the likelihood of any sanctions being imposed. Second-placed Juventus host Serie A leaders Inter on 5 December and Inter coach Jose Mourinho has said he believes there is a chance the game would be moved away from Turin.

Ferrara facing the sack?

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Juventus will sack Ciro Ferrara if his side fails to beat Bari at the San Nicola on Saturday. The Bianconeri were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday evening after a 4-1 defeat at home to Bayern Munich.

Juventus President Jean-Claude Blanc has since come out in defence of Ferrara, but the board is reportedly far from happy with his performance. The Bianconeri currently lie third in Serie A, five points adrift of League leaders Inter despite last Saturday's 2-1 win in the Derby d'Italia.

A victory over Bari at the weekend will apparently be no more than a stay of execution until the end of the season unless Ferrara manages to win the Scudetto, Europa League or Coppa Italia and secure qualification for the Champions League.

Possible replacements include Claudio Gentile and Gigi Casiraghi, but Il Corriere believes Juventus are more inclined to hire either Guus Hiddink or Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Ferrara only got the job in the summer, besting the likes of Luciano Spalletti and Gian Piero Gasperini despite having no prior experience as a Head Coach.

Juventus rarely sack anyone, although they did swing the axe in Claudio Ranieri's direction last season. He became the first Juventus trainer to get the chop since Gigi Maifredi in 1991.
