Well, it doesn't matter so much if it's the Milanisti's comments which pass like the ephemera they truly are. I guess Ranieri wanted to give Totti the playing time to get him match-fit. That's the only real explanation of that - especially since of those three starting forwards he's surely the least well suited to playing with Baptista. An ugly second half and Bari had their chances in the first half too. Plenty to work on, but nice to have the three points in the bank.

Yes, the Totti sub at the end was clearly just a move to get him his applause, and not a tactical move. How nice it was to see him playing again, and perhaps it is just like he just pressed 'restart' and he'll go on another scoring tear.

Happy for the three points (hah! I typed pints at first and it's a bit early for that), but I still can't look at the table without wondering wtf is Roma doing down there.

Now, Edzo, what's that going to do for Mirko's confidence. I see Romanews are giving Pizarro a 6.5 for today. My sense is that's a bit generous - he gave the ball away a fair bit today in dangerous situations. I think he's the player who'll have the most adapting to do if we play with those three together up front. I'm not sure it'll totally suit him as I felt we saw at times today, but we shall have to wait and see.

Just thought I'd put a word in for the Sky Italia migliore in campo!



I've been singing this guy's praises since the summer and if anyone doubted he should be our no.1 goalie, today he made a real case for himself...it's not so surprising he and not Totti was made "man of the match" because he made some superb stops without which it would have been a very different story. I'm not sure Doni mightn't have let a second Bari goal in today and I shudder to think what Artur would have done!

Totti with his tripletta of course deserves all his praises. Vučinić too for his work, though he understandably looked a little jaded after his midweek international during which he scored a goal. Menez needs to work on his finishing or Ranieri might just make him part of Rosella's January plans of some kind of sale/exchange deal to get a striker. I had to smile, though it's not at all funny, to read her statement that we have money to buy but not at top level...like we don't already know that?

I'm pleased about today but...well, at least the win is a heartening step in the right direction though our flaws are still there to see.

Vuci looks better with his unshaven face...he looks like a damn 1970's pimp with that moustache! Saying that, I treasure this most unusual pic of him from when he first joined Roma...it's amazing what a skip-cap can do. Who says the camera doesn't lie? Who honestly thinks this is a 100% accurate likeness of him?
