Having someone in the replay booth looking at every goal would take 20 seconds. No longer than the players celebrate.

First I have to say that, no matter what Henry says, if this had gone against France, he'd be the biggest whiner in the media. I can't say I'm surprised that he cheated, given his Juve past.
I agree with Italiamia that they can implement technology smartly in a way that doesn't disturb the flow of the game and protects the integrity of the game. (hah I managed to type that without laughing ... okay maybe gives back some integrity?)
I work with someone who cheers for France and he wonders why I feel bad for Ireland, given all the times Italy has been screwed and no actions were taken to redress the situation. I guess I'm just tired of seeing screwups that are so costly, especially in cases where it is pretty cut and dry. That was a handball and video technology would have shown it to be so. When a player is a metre or two offside, video technology can tell us that. Same thing (normally) for whether a ball crosses the line or not.
There are still a LOT of judgement calls, (on fouls etc.) so the online referees never need to fear that there will be calls to dispute.
This reminded me though, speaking of video technology and cheating Frenchmen, has Vieira been handed a punishment for his elbow on De Rossi? ;-)
