Yes, it was entertaining if nothing else, and could go on forever if one had the strength. At least it brought a bit of life to some of the threads over there, if only for a short while. Hey giovanni, do you know if that is giancarlo de sisti kneeling in the front, second in from the right? Looks like him but not 100% sure. I remeber meeting (and having my pic taken) with santarini, the captain at the time, when they came to play here in vancouver back in '79. i was only 9 at the time but was still starstruck even though i only knew about roma from listening to "calcio minuto per minuto" on the radio on sunday mornings. i had never seen what any of the players looked like. that was also the first season that conti played for the senior team and even at that age he made an impression on me when they played the friendly as he was easily the most skilled player on the field that night. i think the next time i saw him was in the 82 wc.

When was it Scotland beat France at Hampden, 2006? I'm hoping for a similar result anyway. Playing at a place Hampden with 60,000+ roaring Scots must be an intimating atmosphere and I'm sure France can look forward to a similar reception in Croker on Saturday (with 80,000), and we have to use that to our advantage as much as we can. Yeah I suppose the nephews are old enough now to handle the abuse anyway, and sure they'll probably be the one's who I'll have to control if things don't go our way.
