MILAN - Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi says he would sell AC Milan only to someone better for the club than him and nobody suitable has yet emerged. Milan sold top player Kaka to Real Madrid for 67 million euros in the last transfer window and recruited very few new players in a bid to balance the books Rumours of a sale have since circulated, with Albanian tycoon Rezart Taci among those to express interest, but Berlusconi had always previously denied he would sell.

"I would make the sacrifice to sell Milan only to someone who would benefit the club more than me. Up to now, no one has come forward who fits the bill," Berlusconi said in an interview for a book to be published later this week. The book on Italian politics, by famous television journalist Bruno Vespa, is called Donne di Cuori (Queens of the Heart).

Milan, who won the last of their seven European Cups in 2007 and their most recent Italian league title in 2004, suffered a poor start to this season but a 3-2 Champions League win at Real last month has boosted their confidence. The two sides play the reverse leg later on Tuesday. Also in the book excerpt emailed to Reuters on Tuesday, Berlusconi said he believed Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was not interested in investing in Italian football.

Milan legend Paolo Maldini admits he has considered returning to the club to help them out this term, but it will not be on the pitch.

The Italian retired from the game at the end of last term following a distinguished career at the San Siro. Reports claimed Maldini would take on a director's role, and he has now made himself available to the cause.

"I gave plenty and received a lot and I feel so much love for the Milan colours. It goes beyond the people who work there," Maldini told La 7 Gold.

"If there is the chance to do something positive that will help this team then I will always be there. My life has always been without other roles on the side, and I want to continue like that.

"The team have great pride and they are capable of always giving a moment of important emotions."

The Rossoneri have grasped the nettle of reform following a poor start to the season, and Maldini hopes the good run continues. But, his Champions League prediction sees Chelsea and Barcelona at the forefront of the chasing pack.

"We are going through a good period because the team has found consistency in the Champions League and in Serie A. They know how to play football," added the former Italian international.

"The Champions League? I think Barcelona are the strongest team, but my friend [Carlo] Ancelotti's Chelsea are well equipped."

Krasic eyes Milan move

CSKA Moscow attacker Milos Krasic admits that he would like to move to Italian giants AC Milan. The Serbia international has been linked with a move to a number of clubs, including the Rossoneri, with English sides Arsenal, Liverfekkin'wankscum and Manchester City all reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Krasic has been with the Russian side for five years but is likely to move elsewhere in January, and although he is focused on matters with his current side, admits he would be tempted by a transfer to Italy.

"There is still time before January and I have not a deal with any club," he said.

"Now I must focus on CSKA Moscow. But, if I have to choose between all the clubs that are interested, I have a preference for Milan."

Krasic was on the scoresheet when CSKA drew with Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, the point leaving Moscow battling it out with Wolfsburg for second spot in Group B.

i think we should give leonardo credit for finally finding a formation that produces goals and gets the most out of pato. also seems like dinho is returning to above average form. if these players can carry their own weight, then we have a chance to retain a champions league spot at the end of the season. now we need to find a way to stop leaking goals, and sell huntelaar in january. of course, it would have been much better had we never bought him in the first place as we only lost a lot of money in the time he has been with us.

It wasn't really all that much and it seems like some EPL outfits are looking to buy him for 13 mil pounds so we stand to make a little profit if the deal goes through. And I thought our defense has been really good so far; 4th best in the league and ahead of Juventus...not too shabby given the lack of help from midfield.
But yeah, the team and Leonardo deserve a lot of credit for stepping up the way they have over the past couple of weeks or so. Especially in the face of such adversity created by their own management.

it was the first game vs. madrid that changed everything. until then, the team had no belief in itself, no confidence. but as usual which big champions league encounters, the team stepped up and realized that they really are a damn good team. for some reason, it has always been a question of mentality with milan, on our day, nobody can stop us. the team has finally found belief in itself and the results are bearing fruit.

dzeko has again stated he wants to come to milan. offload huntelaar, who has been an unfortunate flop, and bring in dzeko for less than 20m. i guess that ghanian adiyeh kid will be cover enough for ronaldinho and pato in the wide forward berths, and hopefully we will have di gennaro back after the international break. the kid is a dribbler, and we don't have too many of those on the team.

gourcuff would've been perfectly suited for seedorf's current role. too bad about that. but we need some sort of box-to-box technical midfielder, abou diaby on arsenal is starting to show some great potential. i doubt he is a realistic option, but we desperately need a technical midfielder because seedorf is done after 60 mins.

Here's a piece Shinpin which mentions dzekos still talking about a move to Milan. Has your management, be it Galliani and co or Leonardo, given any indication that they will be looking to spend some cash come January? Obviously if Huntelaar leaves then you might look to sign a replacement.

With Huntelaar, was he really given a fair chance? He's only been at the club a few months, having to adapt to a new league and new tempo yadda yadda yadda, so should you really be looking to offload him so soon?
